The whole 'Wenger didn't deem him worth 45m euros' thing is nonsense and one of the few things that still really annoys me about him. That is Draxler's worth. Someone will pay it whether it's this Summer or the next. It's not like if we pay that now we're going to feel hard done by and that we could have got him for less later. A lot of the time Wenger just seems to stubbornly decide that a player is worth about 15% less than the selling team wants. If you want a player, just cough up. Imagine if he'd actually had the balls to bid £60m for Suarez in the Summer. No balls Wenger... he just doesn't have the confidence to spend money... too worried about it backfiring.

Clearly a club can go too far and just always overpay... but there's a sensible medium in between these two extremes. Wenger needs to slide to the right to find this happy medium.

If you actually watched or read any of Wenger's recent interviews, you'd realise we were never in for Draxler. Completely made up by the media that one I'm afraid, and all its done is get Arsenal fans' hopes up. With Wenger now dashing those hopes fans are blaming him, even though its not his fault the media talks bollocks all the time.

So no Arsenal offers were made for Draxler then? Someone is lying big time....

If that's the case then I'm equally annoyed as it suggests he's not really even looking at any top players. Either that or we'll get a story in the next day or two about how we bid a derisory amount for someone which was rejected and that that's supposed to show that he tried. Our squad is not big enough. It should be strengthened. He can't sit there proudly and state, "I was never in for him anyway" as that's just a cop out too. He needs to get in there for someone.

He's got us into such a good position now and seems to really have gone through a touch patch. But I'm worried that he's gone back to resting on his laurels. As if spending £42m in the Summer exempts him from making any effort a couple of years in the transfer market. He can moan about how much he dislikes the transfer window all he likes... it exists and he needs to use it if a squad he owns isn't as strong as it possibly could be, with money sitting in a transfer fund.

Twitter rumours linking us to Miroslav Klose now as well.

Sounds like the standard Wenger 'rush around on the last day for any player under the sun because everything else has gone wrong and I'm going to blame the transfer window and it annoys me that the transfer window exists as everyone only ever does business on the last day although if I'm honest it's actually only because I leave everything to the last minute because I always want to underpay' tactic.

If they said they wanted £200m for Draxler, would Arsene still be wrong for not "coughing up"?

What's the limit before you would agree that the price is too high & Arsene was correct to dismiss it?

"If you want a player, just cough up" Possibly one of the dumbest comments ever made on a football forum.

Seem like madness to me to go into the second half of the season with only one striker in the squad but I'm sure Wenger knows what he's doing...

He counts Bendtner and Sanogo as valid choices. I don't think we were never in for a striker from the beginning, especially after listening to his latest news conference. He's saying we need a Ramsey replacement only.

Berba going to Monaco.
Frimpong off to Barnsley apparently - surely he could move to a low PL club!?

Also, Gaurin isn't happy at Inter & is apparently up for transfer - worth a shot?

The best chance we have of winning the league in years and Wenger still won't get a second striker? The thing is, this should've all been sorted out in August. I and others got slated because whilst we were thrilled with the Ozil signing, we didn't overlook the fact we desperately needed another striker.

Well you reap what you sow. If we miss out on the trophy due to our profligacy in front of goal, well, we will see where the fingers point.

They'll probably blame Ivan, anything to take the blame away from le rosbif.

Yeah... but it wasn't £200m. It was £37m. Dumb comment. If we wanted him, pay up.
