gradually shedding the legacy of our league one days.

has to find his level now. apparently it wasn't the championship.

Remember when I went to Coventry away in the FA Cup 2 years ago when 2 young players scored in a 2-1 win. One was Aaron Martin. The other was James Ward-Prowse. 2 careers which are going in 2 completely different directions.

Not so sure about that myself. He was a very adquate stand in for our CCC days. Never did much wrong in my view so long as had a strong centre back alongside him. Either way, we should wish him luck in finding another club. Good pro.

Unfortunate with injuries lately, but I think if he develops as he should he could end up a decent championship player, and maybe in future he'll find his way back to the premier league.

Stand in is right. I was thinking in first team football terms. Maybe Coventry will pick him up now.

I remember coming away from that game thinking how good those two scored... very different paths.

Good Luck Aaron.

Seems like surplus players are being allowed to get on with their careers now Cortese has gone. Speaks volumes about the new regime.

I don't think that has changed anything. Martin has only just come back from injury so it would have been cruel to release him earlier. Lee had a move lined up before we let him go, maybe Martin does too.

It was the same under Cortese.

They always were if they wanted. But the wages they were on made it difficult to negotiate with a new club. Releasing from a contract gives you the opportunity to rebuild your career but you give up a bit of a pay day!
