Nolan, pleased to see the back of him

Discussion in 'Sunderland' started by newcastle1 sunderland9, Jun 15, 2011.

  1. If ssn are right and nolan is having a medical at west ham now I'll be delighted to see the back of him 4 goals against us last season and bullied our midfield added to this i think he looks like a right t##t of a bloke. I realised last year how much we were being bullied when he done his chicken dance in front of gordon. He wouldn't have done that if kevin ball was playing, he's have been in a lot of pain shortly afterwards.

I don't think his chicken dance was a dig at Gordon, it was just his celebration.

  4. No he done it in front of him before a Barton free kick and I was annoyed that not one of our players clatterd him. Bally would have 'snapped him in half' next challenge

Even a Sunderland fan can see going from Newcastle to West Ham is a step backward. But I'm a firm believer in that if a player doesn't want to play for a club anymore, he has to go. He'll be a big miss, but atleast it's getting sorted now and not on the last day. Hopefully it'll give us plenty of time to find a worthy replacement.

    To true lad.

Strange decision to let him go, reading between the lines tho looks like Pardew has somebody coming in to replace him

I don't understand his decision, he scored double figures in the premier league last year so why would he want to drop down. He must have a shiiihite agent. He's clearly not wanted at sjp anymore so surely his agent should be touting prem clubs. Even the 3 new boys.

Nolan, Enrique, Collocinni and Barton were the backbone of the last 2 years for the goon squad.

Now, all 4 could be allowed to leave? What will happen to their team spirit and experienced heart of the team? And they come on here and give it large because we got 20m for JH?

Well done Agent Ashley? Plan '**** the mags part 3' well under way? over and out (out of the EPL maybe)

Hopefully, like I say, better now than at half 10 on 31st August.

Could be a number of things. Nobody knows the exact details of our contract offers to him, but it seems length of contract is important to him. If West Ham can offer him four years on decent money, why wouldn't he go? It's football after all. I also think he's good mates with Fat Sam, so that can only help.

That chicken dance was so bloody annoying it was untrue, and to have to witness it four times last season was hard to take (must have been a ball for the mags mind). So if the stories of him leaving are true, then I for one will be over the moon, and I also believe he will be a huge loss to Newcastle which is an added bonus.

  15. Maybe he's getting a good deal at west ham. In addition to this it looks like Ashley is balancing the books over there that could be wise with the new rules that are coming in and we even may look back ourselves at the sale of bent as a good decision, hendo was obviously just daylight robbery

It was the same for us watching Cisse do that arm spinning thing he used to do.

He wasn't going to sign a new contract though, was he? Couldn't agree terms, or something. It does seem odd as he was a player for them last season, so why not keep him? SAFC and NUFC may be two of the better clubs in England, but we have trouble getting good players up here, so I'd have thought it's better to buy in before you sell.

Nolan was a much bigger figure and influence at your lot though, than Cisse ever was at ours.

Nolan and Barton have made your midfield solid and controlling.

Derbies will be interesting now if both of them are gone, to be replaced by some unknows?

That's not the point I was making, I was replying to something MrRAWhite said about the celebration being annoying to watch.

Derbies are impossible to predict at the best of times, so with uncertainty in both our squads, I'll hold my judgement until a good few games into the season.

It may not be the point you were making but it is something your lot must be thinking about? Nolan and Barton (and it pains me to remember) were maginificant, especially at your place but also at ours. They dominated the midfield and we couldnt get a hold on the game after 15 minutes.

Looks like we are targetting more experienced EPL performers just at a time youre looking to off load yours? They will be hard acts to follow?
