Liverpool are in negotiations with Red Bull Salzburg over the transfer of midfielder Valon Berisha, according to Norwegian newspaper Aftenbladet. The Reds have reportedly tracked him for a while and have now opened talks with the Austrian side over a possible deal. Berisha was watched by Anfield representatives during Red Bull Salzburg's 3-0 friendly win against European champions Bayern Munich last weekend, while the Reds also scouted him during their 4-0 league win over Austria Wien last month. Liverpool's hopes of landing him will be boosted by the involvement of former boss Gerard Houllier, who is currently working as global sports director for Red Bull Salzburg. Berisha, 20, has earned nine caps for Norway at senior international level and is valued at around £2.5m.
