It's AA's disciples that have turned the name change debate into an anti allam debate. There is no measured argument for the change & as such the disciples have turned the debate on it's head. Quite sad really.
I totally understand where you are coming from ; it is a very personal judgment call. I do wonder how much longer you will be able to say (accurately) ' after over 50 years following City ' because the whole intent is that City will not exist - not only will it not exist but it will have died at the hands of an owner who vilifies that term, 'City'. There is lots of football out there; kids, youth, disabled, Saturday, Sunday, Ladies; perhaps one or more of them are more deserving of the support of a lover of football. Unless of course (this is not targeted at you and please forgive me for using your genuine and heartfelt post, but it is apt) it is the appeal of the ground, of the (library) crowd, the excellent PR and merchandising, the inconsistent football (it varies at any level - ask Moyes), the pint with the lads - or is it the memories of bygone years, of games won and lost as Hull City AFC {The Tigers), friends passed but not forgotten, the pride and disappointment of supporting 'City', the arriving home and the wife saying . had a good day love, better luck next week? As I have said earlier, I will move away from my team should the name-change go ahead; in some ways it is like a man divorcing his wife because they have grown apart and I know that Hull Tigers, owned by Allam, is not where I would wish to be; as a man who has been happily married for 40yrs, it is not a decision I make lightly. I respect your post, it is honest and to the point.
You & the other disciples of Allam have never offered a ****ing argument, you thick ****, that's why you all cried 'til all name change threads were bundled into this pile of **** thread & trolled constantly by yourselves. The same link's being posted three times in a few hours smacks of desperation & further reinforces the need to close this thread, the disciples can't even follow it.
CTWD state quite clearly they're against the name change, not Mr Allam, who they support. It seems to be the few seemingly not against the name change that want to shift the agenda. If they had a good reason in favour of the name change, perhaps they wouldn't need to try dragging the goal posts all over.
agenda shifted by CTWD .. courtesy of allam ... you now have a new monikor .. its called plague on tigers fans ... welcome to your new world
Not only is this aqn old item, but it is full of observation and short on solution, It seems to me that he says that the result of the owners actions is unacceptable, but he would hope that a solution can be found to deflect the inevitable. One thing I know about sports journos is that if such a solution was both obvious and acceptable, it would form a part of his headline. He knows the fans have been backed into a corner and he regrets that; just as I regret that some like having their bellies tickled.
Dear me, you really can't reply without resorting to foul language can you. Still if you have no real reasoned argument I guess it's the best you can do. Now, try again without swearing. There's a good boy.
I have no complaint with CTWD, are they represented by the potty mouthed little inadequate who calls himself Cheshire Ben? Are you personally happy with the impression he gives the outside world of your own stance DMD?
Only an idiot would think he spoke for me. Anyway, rather than this sillyness, what about using the thread for its purpose and giving your view on why you think the name change is a good thing?
You're as poor at patronising as you are at debate. All the reasoned arguments were made 4-6 months ago, all from those against the name change. There have been none delivered for the change by AA or his disciples because there isn't a reasonable argument for changing the club's name. They are on the threads prior to this one that was instigated by the disciples when they realised they were on looking rather foolish on many other threads. The disciples subsequently took it upon themselves, when they realised they had no argument, to alter the agenda & attempt to make the debate an anti AA discussion, completely without foundation or relevance. All reasoned discussion has been done. Can you not see how posting a link three times in six hours is desperate. You ****.
Ok, so we can agree on a view on Ben, that's good. I have previously given my view on the name change. I'll dig it out and re-post it on here for you (but it'll have to wait until tomorrow). Then perhaps we can have a mature discussion about what we agree on and what we don't. Dialogue has to be the way forward, though I doubt AA will now enter into any, which is a shame. Compromise could help us all.
I didn't say we agreed on Ben. I'm happy to have a sensible chat, but you really should drop the faux, smug, patronising act, you're not up to it. The positions are quite simple...do you agree with the name change to Hull Tigers. The answer is either yes, or no as that is all that's on offer.
Not when it changes, are you struggling to read it? Perhaps if you had listened when you were at school, (you did go to school didn't you?) instead of writing a list of all the rude words you know, you would understand that.
Give your head a shake - that's the daftest post I have seen on this topic and there is hot competition.
No, and I'm sure they will be delighted if you are not. Besides, I suppose the £2 membership would represent a large proportion of your pocket money.
