I think it's really depressing that people are taking the attitude that contact means it's not a dive and worse, that it's a penalty! He's been brushed at most and there's no evidence to show he's off balance because he just throws himself forward. I don't care what player it is, I don't really blame them as I'd like to see our players do it more since it's becoming acceptable, but it does make me sad the attitude that "winning" penalties is part of the game now. Refs, the FA and the media can take the blame for this bullshit.

Also, as it was brought up, remember when Bale was getting booked last season? The point the referees were trying to get across was that contact doesn't mean it's a foul and the media towed that line and now they're saying the exact opposite.

I think it was clear cut, but if you had a video ref it would be simple:

Q: Was there enough contact for Goofy going to ground A: No Action: Book Goofy
Q: Was there enough contact for a penalty A: No or Not proven. Action: No penalty
Q: Is Goofy guilty of Simulation. Probably but not 100% conclusive. Action: Don't upgrade the yellow to a red.

Not an idea outcome but better than the actual one.

I'm conflicted for this game. I think Chelsea winning is better for us but I'd love to see Moyes shut a few people up, particularly their own fans. Can't see United winning with that line up though, hopefully I'll be surprised.
 
This Shreeves-Mourinho interview is painful to watch. Jose not interested, Shreeves persisting.

Not really bothered about the result today, my heart is gunning for United, my head for Chelsea. Either has its pros and cons.
 
Could be really damaging for Moyes if Chelsea batter Utd today. I expect a rather tedious and narrow win for Mourinho's mob, though. One or two goals in it, probably.
 
Chelsea have been crap, so far. Man Utd look so devoid of quality and confidence that they've not been able to take advantage, though.
 
United are in real ****.

The sad thing is, they're not even going to bite the bullet and sack Moyes. Because Fergie took 4/5 years to get the team playing, they're obligated to give Moyes the same luxury. The game has changed now though, and that amount of time off the top is seriously damaging to a club of their stature, in a way it wasn't in the 80s.
