Adam Blackmore of BBC Radio Solent reporting that the new Chief Executive may be announced as early as tomorrow. Probably our only new face this transfer window, so we may as well try and enjoy it and speculate.... DTLW
As long as they have the abnility to tell Wenger, Moyes and co to go forth and multiply I'll be happy.
I would certainly want the person to be an excellent businessman first and foremost. Big shoes to fill.
Agreed. We've argued the pros and cons of the Cortese personality and style, but one thing is clear he sold a vision to the manager and players. The new guy will need to be more than just an administrator if this club is to progress any further.
Probably nothing, but Derek Llambias's son has favourited a tweet saying that his Dad is in the running for the job.
Might have been mentioned (I've not really bothered following) but in October, Llambias rejected an offer from Rangers because he didn't want a full time job in football and Glasgow was too far from his family. Glasgow is a lot closer to Newcastle than Southampton is...
I want someone appointed who has a lot of idiosyncrasies...we need a source of humour similar to that provided by The Don.
I feel it will be a businessman who will have experience in handling purchase/sales of big business so be a short term contract with a nice bonus following the successful sale. If so there is no way the new CEO will consider selling any of our key assets otherwise it will seriously effect the price
For me the toughest job for the new Chief Executive will be to fill the stadium outside of United/Chelsea/City/Christmas games. It won't matter who we end up owning us, or the current owners. We need to fill St Mary's week in and week out, so it becomes necessary to have a stadium needing 50-60,000 capacity. Somehow we need to find the other 15,000 that went to Wembley in 2010
