odds are only cos so many bet previously. whatever online isn't willing to change odds to attract more bets... they've enough exposure.

tello is going nowhere.. he's ties to mothers apron strings so he's obviously not mature enough to come to england so will rot in barca unitl he finally realises.... he's the next bojan.. he tried to move but it failed so he ran home.. now on loan at ajax.. 24 and frankly... no thanks

now looking for a club in holland and for someone who might want to play for spain.. thats like signing non league.

At least pacheco gave it a go early.... tello... no thanks. we've two up fornt now. we need a third option... tello will never be that. this is why aspas was signed but the problem is trying to buy something that might bench warm you ended up with a steaming pile of.... well it'll warm a bench all right.

Woah, huge new signing, can't believe this! Great job by Rodgers and the board behind the scenes, kept it quiet but wow...

See United keep being linked with Ilkay Gundogan for about £20m. Would be a great singing for that much and would certainly strengthen our midfield with someone of his quality coming in. Only problem is can't see us spending £20m on a midfielder and getting a new full back in this transfer window.

I really want to know why on earth these odds are like that. Basically the odds are saying it's pretty much a dead cert it is happening - whereas, from what I've seen and read it's far from that.

Strange odds. Or like I said before, odd odds.

Now I don't want to step on Dave's or Tobes' toes here, but the odds will be shorter if a lot of punters are putting money on it, particularly large amounts.

Plus, it probably suits the bookies. A lot of punters back a dead cert like that thinking its "easy money" which, of course, it is for the bookies if its not going to happen.

Transfer odds are always really low for some reason.

Koke is 4/7 to join Man Utd before the end of January. Baines & Coentrao are also odds on. Coentrao the only one they'll sign or even attempt to sign IMO. Koke won't move from Atletico and risk moving to a club where he might not start just before a world cup.

Fabian Delph?

"There are no real developments yet," the boss told reporters at his pre-Aston Villa press conference.

"You see across the markets, clubs are just looking and seeing where they can improve. It's similar to ourselves.

"We've been working over a number of months on possibilities that could strengthen the team. We just need to wait and see how that goes in the next couple of weeks.

"The owners have been great in terms of if there's something there to be done that will help us and improve us, I'm sure they'll support that. It's one where it could be a difficult market to improve in.

"But it certainly won't be for the want of trying. There's a lot of good work going on; we're assessing a whole raft of players. It's just whether they are going to be available for us to bring in now."

On players going on loan:

He explained: "It's something that we'll look to do, certainly with young Tiago. He has come in and he now knows what Liverpool is about and the standards.

"It has been difficult for him in terms of game time because he hasn't played. But he has come in and shown the profile of player we thought he would be.

"It's the case that we'll probably look to get him a loan period now, where he can get some games. As a defender, he needs to be playing. He'd certainly be someone that we'd look to get on loan."

On Ibe, the manager added: "Young Jordon Ibe is a boy that's in and around the squad at the moment. We're just balancing him. He has been outstanding in training.

"He was out for a few weeks with an injury but he's a young player that's learning all the time - he's in no rush to go out.

"At some point we will have to get him regular game time in order for him to push on. At this moment in time, he's on the bench and has got possibilities to play.

"He has shown every day in training that he's at a really good level. But there will come a point where, if he's not playing here regularly, he'll need to get some game time because I think he can be a great player for us for the future."

Its sounds to me like Ibe and Ilori are not far from the first team squad. But need some more game experience.

Surely we should have given Ilori the chance at playing by now. Could have come on at the end of some Prem games and definitely the FA cup. Even if its for the last 10-15 mins of a game.
Skertl makes me worry on every corner or just a long punt into the area. Got to look to be replacing him for next year. Giving Ilori the time now could be a help for next season.

Surely we must be looking at Yann M'vila again after Lucas getting injured yesterday? We look light as it is, let alone losing people.

The Lucas one didn't look too serious but yesterday was plain evidence that we are sorely lacking, as has been obvious most of the season, in specific areas and don't have the quality there. If Lucas is out even for a moderate amount of time, i.e. more than a couple of games we should be looking to bring someone in, but we should be looking for a top class DM anyway. We won't be able to get players for all the areas we need this window as the market isn't good, good/desirable players not being available and prices inflated etc.

A lot of reliable people have been saying that we're very interested in M'Vila and the player wants to come. Apparently a deal was in place before Rubin's staff were all sacked.

And not only is a DM needed, the back line needs replacing bar Sakho.

I'd actually be ok with Skrtel having another season next to Sakho as long as we get top new full backs and a defensive mid.

Priority order for me:

DM
RB
LB
AM (or attacking minded passes midfielder).
WF
CF
CB
Gk (deputy)

I don't think our CBs are doing too bad, I think there's just zero protection from the fullbacks for them. Toure was constantly shifting to the left because Cissokho was AWOL yesterday and he looked baffled as to why that was the case. When Toure had to go across, he was looking back inside to see who was filling his space and, until Lucas came on, no one was.

I know it's the cool thing to write off Skrtel as being our worst CB (behind Agger even, which is laughable) but he also had a good game but similarly, had to try to cover inept defending from Johnson. Neither of them got any help from the midfield and runners were pouring into our box. Any CB combination we play will struggle with the dross either side of them.

Our CBs are fine, but it was huge tactical naivety by Rodgers to think we could play so many attacking players against a good counter attacking team. Lucas should never be dropped as he is vital to our team (again, despite it being the popular thing to claim we need a better DM) and yesterday showed. Sure, there are probably better players in the world, but the same is true for all but one of our squad. He has to play, regardless of who else is fit. If that means BR drops Gerrard, fine. Or Sterling, or Coutinho.

The only undroppable players in our team right now are Suarez, Sturridge, Lucas and Henderson (whose form has dropped since Gerrard came back...). You have to add Mignolet too, I guess.

And not only is a DM needed, the back line needs replacing bar Sakho.

Ahem, Martin Kelly. <ok> (Would still need cover for him, unless we go out and buy world class, but would they come still? - same problem across the back apart from Sakho like you say, who will be). Out of the rest of our defense - barring a miracle where we go on a spending spree and get the best of the best across the board - Agger can stay, Enrique can stay (to be faded out eventually), obv Kelly, the rest for the boot as they're dross.

For us not to sign a quality DM in this window is inconceivable, even if its a loan deal.

Maybe BR is playing the waiting game on someone.

think he is doing that with a few players personally, whether its a gamble that will pay off time will tell, as we need players brought in one way or the other, just hope it doesn't back fire on us what ever is going on behind the scenes.

I think it is around the enter backs and keeper we need to build.

Mignolet, Skrtel and Sakho are fine. As are Toure and Agger.

I'm not sure Kelly is up to being an attacking ful back in our system. But could be good for center back.

We obviously need a DM in front of the CB's.

Enrique is good for LB but is injured to much. Our alternative options are rubbish.

Johnson has been poor. Flanagan is good but also young and raw. Could Wisdom step up next season?
