Nope, he hasn't finished his medical yet. They stopped at about 7.30pm (2.30pm in Toronto), and will resume in the morning here, probably at 8.30am (3.30am in Toronto)
Whilst delighted with the progress made on striker signings, I do have concerns over the amount of money being spent and committed to in wages with potentially 2 strikers coming in. The money being spent on these two plus the summer signings must be around the 30 mil mark, more than we had spent whilst under Duffman and given recent account statements showing how broke we are I think that signing two 5 mil + strikers at this point in time is too much, I hope we can afford it an it doesn't come back to bite us, as virtually every City fan mentioned when coming back up that one major aim was to learn the lessons from last time and not screw ourselves over again.
The point I'm trying to make, is that if AA walks who pays the wages? It seems very contradictory that he is committing the club to very large deals when, if he keeps his word, he may walk away in a few weeks time.
The difference this time is we have bought players that we can move on at either a profit or get our money back. The players we had under Duffman where all at the end of their careers in the most part and so could not be moved on, so would say we have learnt our lesson.
Not true. If we go down then Long and Jelavic ain't been cutting it. Who's going to pay £7m for either off them then? That's double Shane Longs value as it is, and Jelavic might have been worth that 18 months ago, but if he carries on being **** that will be 2 years he'll have been turgid. At the reported wages, 45k and 50k, we'll be back with a Bullard situation whereby we can't even give them away for free to save on the wage bill as no one wants to pay £50k a week for dross.
Out of this seasons signings the only 2 we'd make our money back from would be Huddlestone and Davies. We'd then be left with Brady, Aluko and Chester who will be worth a fee, the rest are pretty worthless.
