Long and Jelevic upfront - fair play to Hull City. That's got goals written all over it.

Knowing our luck we'd find a way of ballsing it up.

Think it is good but can't get excited when the name change hangs over us.

Whilst delighted with the progress made on striker signings, I do have concerns over the amount of money being spent and committed to in wages with potentially 2 strikers coming in. The money being spent on these two plus the summer signings must be around the 30 mil mark, more than we had spent whilst under Duffman and given recent account statements showing how broke we are I think that signing two 5 mil + strikers at this point in time is too much, I hope we can afford it an it doesn't come back to bite us, as virtually every City fan mentioned when coming back up that one major aim was to learn the lessons from last time and not screw ourselves over again.

I can't see that happening. You have players like Huddlestone in midfield to feed them, could become quite a formidable team. I can definitely see Hull CITY now cementing their place in the PL.

What you've done this season is exactly what a newly promoted team needs to be doing to stay in the league - good on ya.

I hope the new lads hit the ground running and are successful, pity they're cup tied.

I'm just being cynical, i suppose.

Although, what pierrdelafranchesca and daa say is true.

Mr Allam wants to keep that PL income rolling in. Walking away he is not. He's just called his own bluff.

I can't imagine him pulling out completely. Making decent cash off the interest on the loan and probably manages to use the fact one of his businesses looses lots of money to his tax dodging advantage.

I would normally be buzzing about two new strikers. It feels as though it's not my club so it doesn't make me excited.
I'm also concerned about overspending, I always wondered back in 2008/09 where all the money was coming from but was swept up in the moment just like everyone else. If it was my business I don't think my staff would be happy in me spending money I said I didn't have with the possibility of me walking away in a few weeks.

No shock at all. Been on the cards all week. Just some deals take a bit longer. At least it will calm all those hissy fittgers on here.

But well done to all at the club for making these happen. BUZZING.

I knew another club would come out and take the focus off Mr Allam.

Well done to Southampton AFC. You join Cardiff City in the Mickey Mouse club. <eek>

Frankly if we want to stay in the Premier League then I think every supporter over the last 3 years would say with the possible exception of Matty who's not proven at this level, strikers are what we've needed. Its also supply and demand with good strikers costing more than players who generally play in other positions. In the main I believe we have also signed players who in the future could potentially be worth more, not all but the majority; Brucey has achieved great value so far for us. On the basis we establish ourselves in The Prem then I don't believe we have a financial meltdown on the horizon. If the worst happens and we get relegated then I 'guess' this time the parachute payments along with relegation clauses would not place the club at risk.

Allam needs these signings to get the fickle fans on his side over the name change.

That, in a nutshell, is precisely how I feel. I have never in my 30 years of watching City felt as disconnected to the club as I do now.

Everyone goes on about the money being spent and comparing it to Duffen, but Duffen was taking out big bank loans to fund transfers, this is to Allam. If he wants to leave us in the ****, then yes we're in trouble, but I'm sorry I just don't see that happening. So at the end of the day it's Allam's money that he's spending, no one else's.

Yeah.. most teams have something similar. People just seem to want to make drama.

I like Long and I think he'd be a great addition, but £7m?

We just had out pants pulled down.
