Bump. The season finishes tomorrow with a wet race in Bahrain (wtf?), and I think we've all achieved our season objectives. Comfortable survival in the Amateur groups for the majority of us, and I've somehow managed to promote to Pro, although I doubt it'll last long! If anyone is interested in playing this F1 Management Sim, sign up (it's free) and Mifune, BLS, Happyal and myself can give you some help. Races are run twice a week, although you just set your car up between races, you don't actually need to be online whilst they run.
Bumpety bump. I can't believe we haven't tried to press-gang more people into this for three months, so here goes... GPRO is an F1 management game, where you run your own team, hiring and firing drivers, setting up the car, devising strategies, and competing against other players. It runs a pyramid league system where you enter on the bottom rung, and at the end of a season the top 3 drivers get promoted, and if you're in a higher league, the bottom 16 get relegated. There's a few of us from this forum who play, and (I think), we've all managed to be promoted up two leagues to the Pro divisions. (League structure is Rookie, Amateur, Pro, Master then Elite), so we know a fair amount about the game, and we talk about it and share data and theories on a separate forum we've set up. If anyone's interested in playing, I'm sure we know enough to point you in the right direction. We've got fuel data, tyre wear, what makes a good driver, etc, pretty well worked out, so we'd probably be able to get you promoted pretty quickly. Let us know if you're interested!
Bumpity Bump. New season starts soon, so if anyone is interested in playing, now's as good a time as any to get involved.
Come on everyone, with no F1 for months, why not try your hand at this "F1-style" racing management game? Several of us play (we talk about it on a second forum), so we can offer plenty of support for new players. Whether you just want a nudge in the right direction and to figure things out yourself, or if you want to get promoted quicker, we can offer plenty of data and tips. It's free to play too, so if you aren't sure, why not just give it a go?
The next season is due to start tomorrow with the first race a week on Friday(?) and then every Tuesday and Friday so now is a perfect time to sign up or get back involved. http://www.gpro.net/gb/gpro.asp A few of us have been playing for quite a while and so have a fair selection of tools and data to help you on your way. The game requires minimal time to play but you can spend a while if you want to tweak things Sign up chaps and chapets!
Season reset is tonight meaning rookie level starts a fresh, now's a perfect time to join! http://www.gpro.net/gb/gpro.asp To steal from DHC I can't believe we haven't tried to press-gang more people into this for three months, so here goes... Unfortunately I'll be sitting the next season out I suspect, simply got too much going on in real life. Anyone interested though, it's really enjoyable, and I'll definitely go back to it, just now isn't the best of times.
I gave it up, got to the point where I knew enough of the game mechanics to reliably finish mid table in Pro, but couldn't both do that and figure out more details. Then my laptop died and cost me all my spreadsheets, so the enthusiasm went, and real life is in the way now!
If they made this mobile friendly or an app or something that would be cool. Just so you can tinker with things in spare time. However you need a laptop and serious spare time
