Lets not split hairs over interfering with play, its the old school general term for such a thing, its just a term, I much prefer to use that term as it goes than "interfering with an opponent"...that tends to draw unecessary comments from people with a basic sense of humour. :)

Hart didn't dive for the original shot, he was left flat-footed by Gouffrans last second dodge, thats how it looked to me.

"he was left flat-footed"

How many times have I said to you, always look at the keepers' feet. As you say, Hart was left flat-footed because he was distracted by the player, so the goal should not have stood.

I'm glad to see this. I was starting to think I was going mad for being the only one that didn't think it was the worst decision since the dawn of time. I said before that I think it was the wrong call as I think it was an unstoppable shot and I'm not so sure he's distracting Hart before it's already essentially in the back of the net. But it is still a tough call and there was a good case to be made for ruling it out, as you've shown.

If you think its not the worst decision of all time, it must have been the 'right' call. If you look a few posts back mate, it was me who was first to say against everyone and their dogs, that I thought it was the 'right' decision., and it still took 2 posts to get anyone to answer on the subject! I don't think SC was going to venture into it either till I asked him outright as a keeper....didn't have much choice after that! :D

Hart makes a belated movement to his left in response to Gouffrans last second swerve out the way, he's clearly interfering Harts judgement. I've posted the clause from the FA rules further back in the thread and it has the unfortunately worded rule "interfering with an opponent". Lewd jokes aside! if you read the rules it fits that scenario, its one of the more obscure rules, so really we should be patting the officials on the back for that one.

As for Arsenal, that's the last of their easy matches, now. Expect to see them fall steadily behind the pack, over the next few weeks.

Their next game is Fulham at the Emirates, the very definition of an easy game?

Oh sorry, I missed yours. I was scrolling up from the bottom... plus I have you on ignore :p

What the hell is it with Wenger and that bloody zip? You can afford a new coat, you old skinflint! <grr>

But Moyes is set to miss out on Benfica's Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay, 27, who is poised for a move to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg instead.

How sad is that!

I've been to St Petersburg - nasty, vile city. People are rudest you could meet and the atmospehere is really, really menacing. It's much nicer than Manchester.
