He won't be playing tomorrow.

City said talks would take place over the coming days.

He might be at the KC, but he won't be playing.

I appreciate that I'm a bit late to the party here, and I must also apologise for pricking the party balloons a bit somewhat.... but isn't Jelavic ****ing ****e? Hasn't he been Everton's Danny Graham for the last season-and-a-half?

No.

Jelavic could be at his peak now if he gets his confidence back, or on the other hand he could be on the downgrade like Vinegar of Hessleroad was. He was very good initially when he came down south, just hoping he hasn't shot his bolt in the top flight or this could be another Proschwitz type mistake.

He was at his best when he played with Aluko.

Yeah, really ****... a 1 in 3 goal rate for Everton.

Its more complicated than that. Lukaku has been starting over him this season.

I almost thought this was true until I read the name 'Buckingham'.....Football writers equivalent to the deck chair attendant on the Titanic.

He has been a bit inconsistent, but when he's played at the top of his game he's looked world class. Great finisher. If you can create chances he will score regularly. We ain't got that player at the moment.

He's ****ing class

So has anyone got any thoughts why we might announce that we've only agreed a fee - not signed him - just 14 hours before a crucial home league game? Instead of waiting until tomorrow's 3pm presser or - God forbid - when he signs, lets just highlight availability to other clubs and unsettle our strikers for tomorrow.

Another very, very odd decision.

I don't have a clue tbh. I don't think anybody will be able to answer that.

NBC said it was because it was basically a sure thing. They asked the same question and then answered themselves. Said there was no way we and Everton would have put this out like we have unless it was all a formality.

I can't think of a single reason other than we don't actually expect to get him but the owner can now say "I put my money where my mouth is, I tried. Now forget your protests".

Unless someone can think of another one?

Everton announced it at near enough the same time.
