Another for the now, not so mucha destroyer but certainly a creater...... Hernanes. About 26-28 range, Lazio are in the dumps with loads of in fighting with the board, would be a good chacne to jump in possibly.
‘Liverpool and Arsenal battle for star’ – Arsenal and Liverpool are going head-to-head to sign Anderlecht's Cheikhou Kouyate, that’s according to a report in the Daily Star. Saffet Balkan, Kouyate's agent, has apparently said the Gunners and Reds are both in talk over a permanent move for the defender. Kouyate has spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League and was told he could leave by his club before the window opened. The two clubs are now set to battle it out for the star with a move expected to be wrapped up by the end of the January transfer window. Paper Round’s view: Kouyate's performances for Senegal during the 2012 Olympics clearly impressed Arsene Wenger but the Gunners were unable to secure a work permit at the time. However, the defender has been granted a Belgian passport giving him a clear route to the Emirates or Anfield which, it seems, are the two clubs he is keen to join. Both Liverpool and Arsenal could do with landing the 'new Vincent Kompany' as a powerful, athletic defender is very much on the two clubs' wish-lists. There seems little to stand in the way of Kouyate leaving Anderlecht now, but which club will he choose?
Rumour One Liverpool are going head-to-head with Arsenal to sign Anderlecht's Cheikhou Kouyate. Kouyate has spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League and was told he could leave by his club before the window opened. Saffet Balkan, Kouyate's agent, has said the Gunners and Reds are both in talks over a permanent move for the defender. Balkan said: "I have been in talks with representatives from Liverpool and Arsenal over Cheikhou Kouyate. "Arsenal are very interested in Kouyate. It’s very likely that he’ll be joining a Premier League club soon." Kouyate's performances for Senegal during the 2012 Olympics impressed Arsene Wenger but the Gunners were unable to secure a work permit at the time. However, the defender has been granted a Belgian passport giving him a clear route to the Emirates or Anfield. Rumour Two Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Porto hitman Jackson Martinez, if Arsenal miss out on Liverpool target Alvaro Morata. Wenger is keen on securing Real Madrid striker Morata on a six-month loan deal following injuries to Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner. But with reports in Spain indicating that Liverpool have made a bid for the 21-year-old, the Gunners boss is preparing a back-up plan in the shape of Martinez. Rumour Three Bayer Leverkusen's Sidney Sam will not be moving to Liverpool this month, according to reports. Reds' boss Brendan Rodgers is thought to have identified Sam as one of a number of wide men who could make the grade at Anfield. However, any potential move is now off, with the German international agreeing to move to Leverkusen's Bundelsiga rivals Schalke. The 25-year-old's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and he will then make the switch to the Veltins Arena. Sam is expected to be part of Joachim Low's World Cup squad this summer and impressed in his country's 1-0 win over England back in November. It is the latest blow to Rodgers in his pursuit of reinforcements this month, with Zenit St Petersburg reportedly ready to trump their offer for FC Basel's Mohamed Salah. Sam's arrival at Schalke could however spell the end for rumoured Arsenal target Julian Draxler. The 20-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Emirates in the past - although he has stated he wants to remain with his current club until the end of the season. And now with Sam's deal set to be confirmed, the Gunners could get their man ahead of next season, although they will have to match his €45m release clause. Rumour Four Liverpool youngster Conor Coady has extended his loan deal at League One club Sheffield United. Coady, who joined the Blades in July, has made 23 appearances for the club in all competitions, and will now remain at Bramall Lane until February 24. "We have extended the loan of Conor and will see how things progress," said United boss Nigel Clough. "Obviously the lad wants to be playing regularly, so we thought in the first instance it would be wise to sort out the short term. "He has started a lot of games since we arrived, he does a lot of good things, but as you would expect from a young player, has areas of his games to work on. "Conor is such a bright lad, though; he has a real willingness to learn and improve and always has a smile on his face. "He will certainly have benefited from this loan and he has proved to be a useful performer to have in our squad too." Rumour Five Liverpool's fight to sign Mohamed Salah has become even tougher after Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund joined the growing pack of clubs in pursuit of the FC Basel star. Salah is believed to be Brendan Rodgers' main target for this transfer window as he bids to strengthen Liverpool's challenge for a top-four place. The Egypt international has excelled since moving to Europe to join Basel in 2012. He has already impressed against English opposition having scored against Tottenham and Chelsea, who are also monitoring his exploits at the Swiss club. But the 21-year-old winger has a string of admirers outside the Premier League, with Atletico and Dortmund also preparing to do battle with the likes of Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Galatasaray and Zenit St Petersburg to sign the winger. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ews/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumour-mill-6483449
Would prefer Fernando over him. He's a better player would cost a lot less. Mvila also comes with baggage. Supposedly a poor attitude and not the best of professionals. He's Banned from the France NT for 2 years for hitting a club the night before a European Play off game. Got arrested 3 times in the space of 2 years. Also caught in a sex scandal involving a 15 yearl old. He's definitely talented but Fernando looks the more attractive option. But wouldn't complain if we got the former, still an upgrade on Lucas.
interesting odds on Cristian Tello joining Liverpool, which suggests the move could still be on despite Barca saying they want to hold onto him. According to Sky Bet, they remain odds-on to sign him (1/2) with Valencia rank outsiders at 16/1
sorry mate dont gamble so means **** all to me, i copied and pasted from the yahoo eurosport live thingy.
well well see what happens later in the month. I am all for telling montoya and tello to go f themselves cos frankly the don't want to leave the nest... anyone wanting to play left much earlier and younger. frankly... they are barca wannabes IMO not good enough to make it but not able to get the F out and develop.
Rakitic is not going to happen, says he wants to stay in spain. This window doesn't seem to have anyone whos hot and heavy about joining LFC so I am thinking either we see some minor move or not much
we are either being setup for disappointment or a wow how the **** did we get him. not expecting much to happen so will be pleasantly surprised if we do get someone in for the first team, looks like everyone is getting them ready for the summer to sign to me. although world cup year good chance that a lot could get done last week of window, just hope we are getting players in who are good enough as well.
well.... i dunno about set up for but i don't really see yet a big target. I mean we basically knew every singing last summer even sahko and llori were known we just didn't know if they would go ahead. It seems to me salah was our one target but his club want too much. Its up to the player to force it then. if he goes and joins just anyone like going to russia... great we dodged a bullet. The barca boys i am totally luke warm on. If we have not got the ambition to go for a big first team player... or nobody wants to come its a shame cos this is a historic opportunity and we need resources to kick on. who typed the peice talking about the few mil quid FSG would rue if we misse dout on CL by a couple of point yesterday?
