I've been to Newcastle on the back of a scooter to watch the Saints, that either makes me a good supporter or a fecking lunatic?
It was a general question and I don't normally use the term plastic, but it is a word I see being used a lot on Southampton facebook pages.
I wasn't aiming it at you specifically - more the general attitude of "I went to Hartlepool on a freezing tuesday night while these ****ers haven't been to a game in years until now just to watch City, ****in' glory huntin' arseholes, can **** off the lot of 'em" that some people tend to have.
Remember both Ron & Wyn Davies were playing so it was probably about 100 years ago? The scooter was a Lambretta SX200 and we set of from the town center not really knowing where Newcastle was, I guess it was one of those crazy things you do at the age of about sixteen? It took us 2 days to get there, we slept rough and I think we lost 3 or 4 nil, remember watching the game with eyes like piss holes in the snow. Half way back I tapped my mate on the head to let me off as by this stage my arse was like John Wayne's saddle. Happy days.
Major adventure. At least you had one of the best all-time scooters to travel on. Mind you it was still a Lambretta so I can't believe you made all the way there and back without breaking down. Ron, Wyn and John Toshack. Wales' front 3. I used to love watching them in the home-internationals.
We've been though this before: to be a true fan your shirt must be Flybe.com or earlier, you must have a Saints tattoo and a season ticket in the Northam.
I went to Hartlepool on a freezing Tuesday night, but have never seen us play one of the "big boys"... does that make me a good or bad supporter?
