Hes pretty damn good tbf. Plus history tells us many of their reserves go on and end up brilliant. Ask Sneijder about it.

Last game I saw was Portugal v Sweden, bar Ronaldo he was probably the best player.

hes better than Evra ( defensively ) and better than most of our midfield ( who isnt? )

Were your team\manager not booed just recently? <doh> "Their level", you mean that the booing in that last game doesn't count? A free boo if you will before you lower your level? <laugh> The fans on here wanting him gone, they don't count? <doh>
United fans booing on different occasions. Guy has the job a few months so its pretty pathetic.

The fact remains I support United not Moyes. If hes not performing then I fail to see what supporting him blindly will achieve.

If he had shown a single positive then I would view him differently but its negative after negative. From his team selections to his tactics to his handling of the media. He slags the team off as soon as he gets here and wonders why so many dont seem to want to play for him.

Players dont get such a free ride. If they are not performing they become scapegoats for the fans.

As for building a side thats his own, he had a full summer to start to do that. Moyes is well known to keep detailed dossiers on hundreds of players in football. He came into the United job and seemed literally clueless. Hes been a PL manager for years, hes played United for years. As an opposition manager surely he knew our weaknesses ( I assume he would as that what he would target ). Sure some targets were missed out on but it was as if no back up as in place if we missed out. A name was simply plucked from thin air.

Could he turn it around and make us the best side in the world 4 years down the line? Of course he could, I could do that if given the chance. He could also fail and do so miserably dragging the club down with him.

Liverpool have yet to reach the heights of their era of greatness. They hired managers and stuck with them for 2 or 3 years in the hope they may turn good. As you can see their approach worked amazingly well.

Since Dalglish Liverpools managers were as follows -

Souness - 3 years. No progress
Evans - 5 years. No progress
Houlier - 6 years. limited progression
Rafa - 6 years. Started well, turned to ****
Hodgeson - < 1 yea.r awful. The whole country was laughing their ****ing heads off at Liverpool.
Dalglish - 18 months. Started ok but was a complete travesty. As bad as the one above
Rodgers - 18 months so far. they finally seem to have got it right

so 7 managers, most of who were complete failures. Most were given plenty of time and did very little to progress the club. Each helped take Liverpool from the countries number one club to nothing more than also rans.

The argument for time, besides the sole example of Sir Alex Ferguson holds very little weight for me. The best examples around the world show that regular managerial changes in fact freshen up a club and generally have positive results ( at last with the bigger clubs ). Some clubs literally chuck unknowns into the mix and still maintain similar levels.

At this moment Milner is certainly better than Gerrard.

Let be honst, Gerrards a bit **** right now, wasnt that long ago Liverpool fans wanted him to move on as he was a liability in his old age. <ok>

    Which Liverpool fans?

If you're talking about on internet forums and this one in particular I take it that matth speaks for all Utd fans, you included.

Well this one. Cnt be arsed digging for the thread but things along the line of 'We have been better without gerrard', 'hes to slow', 'hes not up to it anymore' have appeared quite a few times.

Right now Gerrards nowhere near the level he was, not even 2% of that level. Hes average at best.

Anyway back on topic. Liverpool, being the last great club have shown us that giving poor managers time will have a catastrophic affect on a club.

They are the last example of this in English football. If we are to learn from any clubs example it should be theres otherwise we may end up following them.
