You are a idiot. Lovren is our best centre back by a clear mile and you would have him dropped for Yoshida... Delusional.

Looking at previous posts there seems something of an anti Lovren slant, and a pro Yoshida.

Now I can understand anti Gaston, even anti Lambert (currently) and at a stretch I can get my head round anti Wanyama, Rodriguez or Boruc (though I'd fervently disagree).

But anti Lovren? That's up there with anti Lallana or Morgan, and utterly inexplicable I'm afraid.

Lovren did look to be off the pace against Chelsea. The same, however, could be said for at least six or seven of the players out there. Suspect that he'll look far better now that the team has gotten a bit of rest.

Agreed, it's the "for several games recently" suggestion I'm flummoxed by.

Lovren's not looked the same for a while. His decision making has been questionable for a few games. He was much better earlier in the season. Those are the two changes Pochettino may make. I cannot see him dropping Shaw at all. Did I say I'd make them? No. I'd play Lovren over Yoshida for the next game. Yoshida's just played against Burnley where we conceded three, and he got dropped after a clean sheet, so his confidence will have dipped. I'd play Clyne instead of Chambers. Yoshida is still a decent option as he was playing at Cardiff when we kept a clean sheet with Gazzaniga in goal.

You've posted three times since I posted and you are getting extremely upset over nothing. It was a valid and realistic post. I like to see all the players do well. Just because I wanted an unchanged back four after Cardiff doesn't mean I'm anti Lovren. It was our first clean sheet in 8 games so I wanted to keep the back four unchanged which is perfectly fair..

You still haven't named any other games where he has been poor other than Chelsea though. The comment about the clean sheet has some validity (though I would never leave my best CB out).

    What other games?

Tbf to Lovren he's been suffering from an illness and that may have affected his performance. Also didnt he have a nasty clash odf heads early in the Chelsea game?

Keeping clean sheet has got something to do with the quality of the opposition, surley? I't easier to keep clean sheet against Cardiff then against Chelsea?

Exactly. What other games? Certainly none I've noticed, and he's been playing alongside a far worse defensive unit, so having to do the job of about 3 men.

And by the way, I've posted three times since your post because I've been responding to other people, not from some weird strain of OCD. It's what you do on a forum. Interact. I'm not upset by your comment at all, merely bemused.

Lovren's been our best player this season., or possibly second after Lallana.

Very well. He's obviously benefited from having Lovren along side him and they've developed a strong partnership.

Doing well...has made himself first choice in defence. Not so good last season, but has stepped up this season.

Should probably be in Portugal's WC squad.

He's doing well, I wouldn't go as far as "very well". His partnership with Lovren is good and he's playing as well as I can remember, but I still don't think he's consistently good enough for this level. He's still prone to the occasional brain fart.

ALBION could have a clean bill of health for Saturday’s trip to Southampton (ko 3pm).

Youssouf Mulumbu and Billy Jones are waiting to see eye specialists regarding the injuries that forced them to miss the FA Cup defeat by Crystal Palace.

But the club remain hopeful the duo will get the all-clear for the St Mary’s Stadium encounter.

Victor Anichebe has also resumed training after missing the last five games due to a groin problem.

Mulumbu is the one I would most like to see missing from the team sheet on Saturday, what an excellent player he is, everything goes through him and he makes them tick

Difficult game Saturday...very difficult.....for me it has draw written all over it. Not sure I can get there either for Saturday so feeling a bit low. Re the debate on Lovren.........He has been an inspiration in my opinion....his partnership with Fonte is one of the best in the league. Chopping and changing his position from left to right and back again....for all his ability...... is not going to help in the short term. One can accept he will make errors...surely if they continue to do this?

Hope you feel better soon Beddy! I agree with Dark Lord Mulumbu is the danger for me. A real plus for us if he's out.
