Or it really puts the incorrectness of that website in perspective. They also have Danny Fox as more valuable than James Ward-Prowse and Steven Davis at the same value as Lallana.
Doubt anyone would pay 25 million for Lallana (though maybe if Liverpool and Man U got in a bidding war). You could easily get 12 for Wanyama. I would guess that Schneiderlin is the most highly valued player on the team. Might get 25 for him. If Shaw were publicly put up for sale (which won't happen) he could go for 15-20.
Our players look good playing for Saints, but I wonder how many would make a good transition to another side, either one playing back-to-the wall style or to a top side. Defenders might do well, but I just feel our midfielders wouldn't look so good on their own transplanted into another team. Haven't the quality to play for a Chelsea for instance. Not dissing them, but I just feel we are better as a unit. Bearing that in mind, some teams could end up paying too much for the player they get.
Value only becomes relevant if our players are in demand or want away. As we have all of the players we want under long term contracts signed to them, that itself adds some value. Further value is added because of our strong financial backing. Add to the mix the fact that most of our desirables are young and English and that it is still silly season for the big clubs when it comes to fees and I believe everyone has undervalued some of our players. At this stage (despite his youth and relative inexperience) Shaw is going to command a fee of closer to £30m than £20m, regardless of what Baines is alleged to be valued at. £25m for Lallana isn't too far off the mark but all of Clyne, Chambers, Rodriguez and JWP are "worth" far more than suggested.
Often been the case with players leaving Saints. Ambition can outweigh talent sometimes, but it seems this crop know they're onto a good thing. Same with managers too - so often a team suits a player/manager for some undefinable reason. I think we have that blend of alchemy pretty well sorted at the moment.
Quick, sell them all. We could get out of football altogether and put it in FTSE.

Clyne is not worth £10 million, he's worth no more than £5 million.
Wanyama and Osvlado's values would have dropped significantly since neither of them have replicated their form from last season. I'd say Wanyama is worth around £8 million and Osvaldo about £10 million.
There is no way that Cork is worth £6 million, more around the £2.5 million - £3 million mark.
Finally, Lallana is not worth £25 million, this is very wide of the mark. I'd put his current value at between £10 million and £15 million.

We're not really a selling team any more, so we will demand a little over the odds for our players. However, wasn't the policy meant to be "2 for the team, 2 for the shop window and 2 for the future." Who would you put down in each role?
Also, who's out in transfer window or come summer? I can see Guly and Lee leaving. Do we feel that Targett fill in for Shaw, if Luke got injured? Might be interesting to see him this saturday in the cup. If Targett is up to scratch, Fox may be off too.
Ignoring the bargains we have from League One / Championship days. I'd imagine that Lovren's value has significantly improved, whereas Osvaldo's has depreciated. Wanyama's probably stayed the same, but his increased exposure will probably cause him to rise in the long run.

I would say that all three of Osvaldo, Wanyama and Lovren's market values are about what they were.
We probably paid too much for Lovren seeing as how he filled a team need and we (I assume) really liked him. He was a player with a lot of potential coming off a very bad season, so there was a lot of uncertainty. But we ignored that and paid the price of a better than average defender with room to grow and it seems that is exactly what we got in Lovren at a minimum. If Lovren does in fact improve/continue to play at a high level then his value will increase significantly from what we paid but I think most teams are going to want to see more than half a season. Lovren's value has gone up, it's just that now he's probably valued at what we actually paid instead of being valued at less than we paid.

The question on Wanyama was whether he could perform in the Premier League, and so far it seems he can, though again teams will want to see more than half a season. Like Lovren, the floor on Wanyama has risen a bit and will probably continue to rise through the rest of the season, but the high ceiling remains the same.
Osvaldo's value has definitely fallen since he is not even starting for us, and has shown the same sorts of problems that plagued him at other clubs, ie. controlling his temper and being less of a psycho. But like the others, it probably hasn't fallen that much simply because half a season isn't much to work with and his value was already discounted due to fears over his temperament. It would not be that surprising to either us or other clubs if Osvaldo got a good run in the second half of the season and became one of our better (maybe even best) players, then he'll be back at the value he started at.

The distinction is less important under Cortese as he'd only let them go based on what the club think they're worth. I suspect he cares very little for perceived worth/affordability for other clubs.
Schneiderlin would effortless fit in replacing Carrick at Man Utd. I think he is at the same level as Carrick. He would definitely be better than Essien for Chelsea. I think Lallana would struggle at big clubs because he would be competing with the likes of Rooney, Hazard, Oscar, Silva etc. Is better than Wilshere though.
Other than that I can't see anyone apart from Shaw maybe getting into the first 11 of any of the Man U/Arse/Chelsea/Man C.
Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton are a different story because they have some major strengths balanced with incredibly weak positions.
£5m doesn't buy you a lot of "very young, fringe England international" these days.
Osvaldo's might have dropped. Not sure why you'd think that Wanyama's has, given that he has been excellent (and Saints have leverage that Celtic did not).

I presume you'd put Wayne Rooney somewhere around £10M then..?
Frankly, they're all over priced, but it's what the market is willing to stump up, not what they are worth.
