Just say "he's scored three goals in 12 games, with 9 of those being as a late sub" to any potential buyer. I'm sure he likes being here by the way he reacts when the them scores, but he doesn't normally track back and doesn't link the midfield to the attack well. Sell him for his own good, these last two years have been a bit of a waste.
For the cup, play mainly Academy players with a spine of the first team/bench - Davis, Yoshida, JWP, Chambers, etc.
Suspensions. Bookings. Four games in 10 days. We already have a lot if injuries. Game time for the fringe players. I could go on, but for me, it's not worth the risk when we should be able to beat Burnley with some of the players who haven't played a lot in the last three games.
You're taking a chance whatever you do. You risk injuries or fitness issues if you use the same players when games come in such quick succession. And on my second sentence: a team ideally has different players for different situations, and they are all ideally good enough to be called upon to do their job. We don't have eleven players who are clearly the best eleven for every game, and then 14+ others who are just stand-ins.
If MoPo asked for volunteers, how many of the first teamers would put their hands up and say pick me?
I don't get your point? You want to win the FA Cup? That would be cool. Unfortunately the timing of he next cup game isn't ideal and I'd not play a few of those that have played most of the last three fans (and Chelsea). By the way, almost is not the same as did.
Oh come on fella. Each game is different. That logic starts suggesting that we lost to spurs, who lost 5-0 to Liverpool and so Liverpool will hammer us. I'm only saying that I would not play my strongest team for the Burnley game; I'd protect/rest a few key players. I believe that it would be an unnecessary risk. I'd like us to progress in the cup and then find the next few rounds aren't in quite as congested a period. If we don't progress I will be disappointed, but far from distraught.
Looking at some of the comments about Gaston, I now feel that I want him to stay and prove these knowalls completely wrong, and if he does I will be the first to say I told you so, (and I know nothing!)
This is the best chance we have of winning a major trophy for 10 years....I think that top 6 may be too early for us this year, so why not go for some silverware?....only the biggest pessimist would have us in danger of going down. In a way, this season is a bit like when we won the JPT...promotion was a long shot, so why not try to win something?
Lambert said the FA Cup is important and we have a good chance of winning. He says Mauricio is taking it seriously...so I guess that means he will include one player from the first team
