I really am quite positive following the match.
I thought we deserved a point and nothing more (or less).

Here's a few observations from my lofty perch in L7.

    Tactics
Simply put... Pards got them spot on.
The 4-5-1 was the gameplan and for large parts of the game it worked, and worked well.
We would have got ripped apart if we went 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.
He's clearly growing in tactical nous so fair play to Pards... although his switch for Santon to the right was a little odd given HBA could have run rings round Flamini.

    Debuchy (my MOTM)
The lad continues to grow in stature. The way he ghosted in time and time again with his late runs was a joy to watch.
I have a feeling that, once he adds goals to his game he will be a legend at our place.

    Sissoko
What an utter beast the lad is. I bet he runs more kilometers per game than anyone in a black and white shirt. Love the bloke.

    Anita
Another terrier like performance today our little Dutchman. The way he seems to find the extra yard is sublime.

    Cabaye
Simply pure class yet again but got sucked into a bit of a personal ding dong with Rosicky.

Overall I didn't expect a win (or a draw) so we move on.

Good summary IMO. No complaints wit the team, Pardew or the result. The goal we lost was a mistake but overall I was pleased with the defence. I actually thought Santon did better on the right than HBA. He created two very good opportunities where he was looking to create chances rather than burst the net. I was frustrated with HBA again. He was skillful as ever but there was no end product.

Interesting to see HBA and Wenger having banter during and after the game.

I've got two complaints today, one was the standard of refereeing and two the fact that Sky Script News don't pick on the poor refereeing because Arsenal benefited from it and not us.

His hugely reactive, overly cautious tactics that restricted us to no good chances in the entire match?
This is totally baseless, convenient guff.

He was poor today and I'm not sure what he's meant to be good at apart from running in straight lines. Pretty odd comment.

Interestingly, too, you posted whilst at the match, which I guess is something you'd need a 3G connection to do - and that's not something I've ever achieved at a St James' Park. <ok>

Disagree about Sissoko thought he was very poor today.
HBA has to realise he cant do it all himself.
Santon was great on right wing, looked class.
Debuchy did have a good game.

    Classy comments as ever fella.
You should sit in row N of L7 (family section) of the Milburn then fella.... JPF never struggled either (neither did I in the East stand for Europe either for that matter).... I presume you have family... and weren't reared by albino badgers?
I am of course assuming you walk around with three different iphones connected to each available network?
In terms of posting at the match... please review my last 100 or so match day threads... this is normal with modern technology.. I often send in pics too.

    just seen the Wenger interview.
Sky were right up his backside and were helping him lament the 'bruising' Giroud took (how incorrectly I assumed he was diving).
Wenger also stated they 'controlled the game' and restricted us to 'well, no attempts'. <doh><doh><doh><doh><doh>

For once I actually agree 100% with you.
Unfortunately Karen Gillan is currently busy and I can't get overt to Pennywell this evening.
Know any mobile redheads? (female preferably - no wigs).

Agreed. Atticus Finch - a man of exemplary conduct, not afraid to do and say what is right despite inevitable persecution from myopic, dim-witted authorities.

I only know albino badgers, trolling and trolling albino badgers. None of which are very classy.

But you should agree with me more often, my friend. I won't give up on you yet.

Seems THAT Atticus was a bit of a rebel. :)

Atticus (c. 175) was an ancient philosopher. All that is known of him comes from the fragments of his book preserved in Eusebius' Preparatio Evangelica.[1] Atticus was vehemently anti-Peripatetic. His work was a polemic, possibly originating from the first holder of the Platonic philosophy chair at Athens under Marcus Aurelius.
It is not clear whether the polemic had a philosophical or a political motivation. Atticus insisted that Aristotle was an atheist, that he denied the existence of the soul, and that he rejected divine providence.
Atticus' position represents a version of Platonism according to which deviation from the literal word of the master means irredeemable heretical opposition. This version turns up occasionally in contemporary scholarship, as much in the writings of Aristotle's defenders as in those of Plato's defenders.

Exactly - starting an argument for the sake of it rather than following any particular philosphical stance. Taking an extreme and opposite point of view just to stir things up. And finally, and most importantly, rejecting logical argument.

Thought we were a tad unlucky to not get at least a draw today. Hit the crossbar, Remy closing keeper down nearly got us a goal and a less greedy HBA could have helped. For me he has become a luxury we can't afford as he is not a team player, I'd say he's a glory hunter and one incident proved this. Beats his man perfectly on the right, cuts back and with 2 players directly in front of goal on the edge of Arsenal box unmarked he decides to hit a woeful shot wide of the near post instead of laying it off. Cabaye has scored numerous goals from exactly this type of position and who's to say this wouldn't have been another.
Thought Santon did well when pushed up wide putting in some good crosses and I hope we see more of him there in future. Lets hope we can get back into the groove at West Brom.
Ben Arfa will have the occasional blinder with his dribbling skills but often with no end product , however, there are many on this board who will disagree with me saying he's a glory hunter.

Says something about how we have been doing that although not massively disappointed with the performance I am really disappointed we lost. Prior to the weekend if everything had gone our way we could of been in 4th right now. Instead its 8th at the end of the year. The top 8 is very tight.

That's Sky for you, biased as hell and absolutely hate us. Never see former Newcastle players on there.
