You mean mid table in the prem and last 32 in the Europa. Taking into account our horrendous injury problems, that's not too shabby. Wow all it takes is a good half a season and Liverpool are world beaters again. Truth is by new years day you'll probably be outside of the Euro places and Suarez will be itching to jump ship. And of course Liverpool without Suarez = Tottenham without Bale. We are really sorry we sold you one of the weaker ex-Swansea managers, and no doubt it pains you to look across town and see Martiez doing such an incredible job at Everton. Perhaps this is the reason for your animosity toward the Swans?
Well i am not going to argue with his statement as he is pretty much hit the money...and your statement.... Wow all it takes is a good half a season and Liverpool are world beaters again. Monty, why all the bitterness? Btw the lowest we 'could' be be new year would be 5th and we accept that Suarez might be on his way in the summer, that's why our club ensured we get his full market value by getting him to sign a new contract last week. Martinez is doing a great job at Everton just like Rodgers is for us. Good luck to the Swans for the rest of the season and Merry Christmas to you and all Swans posters.
Read what I said Sisu and try to process the words carefully before replying Suarez is without doubt in the top 3/4 players in the world. Had you got rid of him in the summer, you wouldn't have been able to bring in anyone close to his ability as they are either playing for Barca or Real Madrid P.S. Surely you have better things to do on Christmas day than trawl through 5 months worth of threads to drag this up again
Couldn't disagree more. Liverpool were winning and looking good in the first six games this season while Suarez was banned, thus proving that Liverpool are no longer a one man team, especially with the likes of Coutinho and Sturridge chipping in
Bitterness?? look at the post I was replying to. Brendan is doing well for Liverpool at the moment, but everyone accepts that Martinez is doing better at Everton, a team without a Suarez and far fewer resources in general. Hence my 'Brendan is weaker than Martinez' comment, a comment that all Swans fans would agree with.
Only halfway through the season and you're already proclaiming Martinez is better. as a red I've watched Rodgers improve our league standing and our game overall, and tbf that's the main thing to me. Anyway all the best mate.
Being a Swans fan I've seen a lot of both Martinez and Rodgers and IMO Martinez is the better of the two. Seeing what he's done so far at Everton only reinforces that opinion. Taking charge of a team who've just lost their manager and best player, turning them in to a stylish team possibly playing the best football in the country is incredible in such a short space of time. Anyway good luck for the season, I think that last CL spot is up for grabs.
Tottenham 'scraped' three 1 - 0 wins, just the same as Liverpool. The parallels keep coming. Scary thing is, despite us thinking Spurs have had a crap start and Liverpool a great one to this season, there's every chance they'll be on the same points come the half-way mark.
It's Christmas Day and a thread has been dug up from July. How ****ing sad is that. Just ignore the twat and he'll go away. What a bellend
Whats happened , has he requested a transfer ? pity he was playing rather well , never mind I'm sure brendan can find another gem , , how much did he go for ?
54 years a swans fan and only missed 20 odd games at home in all that time...come back when you get to be a more passionate fan than me..
Sisu - you need to peace out man - it's christmas. I think Swans fans are only speaking hyperthetically and they are entitled to their opinion. Suarez's disciplinary record is shocking but nobody questions his ability which on current form makes him the number one player in the world imo. But you can't deny that he has baggage - and lots of it - all of which is of his own making. I realise you're a tad upset at losing your goal machine - it could actually finish any hopes you had of top four, let alone top dog, but don't take it out on us there's a good chap.
Suarez has signed a new contract but you can be quite sure it includes a buy out clause and if some club comes up with enough money and really want him that much that they will put up with his antics, then they will have to pay the price. He and Liverpool both win. If he doesn't sell? 200,000 quid a week? Which other club is going to pay that, talented though he is but lets face it, a loose cannon. He's not going anywhere whether he wants to or not. He is now officially a Liverpool player for the next how many years his contract lasts.
