Gerrard Lucas Meireles Henderson Adam Spearing Shelvey Aquilani I would assume Shelvey will go out on loan, likely to Blackpool as part of Adam deal, and Aquilani seems to be generating interest in Italy so is likely to be sold. So, with these assumptions, how would you like LFC to line up? Personally, I'd have (as it stands): --------Lucas----Adam-------- Kuyt-------Gerrard------Suarez ------------Carroll-------------
I reckon,Poulsen,Cole,Aquilani and Jovanovic are all but gone. Shelvey could go on loan to Ipswich for a year to sweeten the Wickham deal.
Hope you're right mate. Not only do they do very little for the team, they're clogging up the wage bill.
Well thats something that Tom Werner and JWH want to address,any players that are no longer in Kenny's plans,they have insisted be moved on,this removes them from the wage bill.
He's what Liverpool need,He's got guile and he's a deep lying playmaker.He's more suited to the counter-attacking style used in away games.
Gerrard can do the same thing but better. People think Adam is a good playmaker because he does loads of hollywood balls every match and even though it usually just wastes possession the few that come off impress. The standard you need is players like Alonso or Banega, not Adam.

Yes you have a lot of midfielders but how many are really premiership standard? Aqualini - yes but wants to be in Italy Poulson - no Cole - talented but a luxury and not a tracking midfielder that KK likes (Liverpool have closed ball down in numbers lately) Pacheco - signs of promise, but not quite there, loan deal possibly Jovanovic - No Shelvey - decent, but not up to standard yet, loan deal to Ipswich as part of Wickham deal Leaves you with LW - Downing (or other) - Maxi CM - Gerrard - Adam CM - Lucas - Spearing RW - Henderson - Meireles All proven premiership standard,
No offence mate but I think Kenny aren't signing him on a whim for a punt. Gerrard is gettin on and when he is injured? suspended? as will other players. Adam can improve his game and will ahve better options playing for us. Lets see him play after a time to settle and we can rate him, not seen too much of him up til now, few matches and he's looked good with Blackpool. Torres wasn't remotely prolific before he came and Boom! I wonder how you would ahve rated Henry at Juve before you bought him, decent, ok run of the mill pacey winger. What happened I think Adam will up his game if he signs, I reckon he's the sort that can do that, some players keep getting better some peak at 24, I reckon seeing as he didn't burst on to the scene as a teen he is the former, hopefully
So people think Henderson will play on the right? Interesting. Personally, I hope not. From what I've seen hes got a good cross but I was hoping we'd have a bit more pace and trickery on the wings. I think we will sign Downing, which I'm not overjoyed but content with. I also have a sneaky feeling we might get Mata. As for the likes of Cole, Jovanovic, Poulson...i'm desperately hoping we get rid of them. I fear we may have to pay Jovanovic and Cole some pay off money, but just getting them off the books will make me relieved. I think Pacheco will go on loan to Norwich again, a move beneficial to all involved. Charlie Adam will be a very shrewd buy. While I feel Gerrard can play similar if not better hollywood passes than Adam, the main benefit for me is his set pieces. We dont score from corners and free kicks enough, and he will without doubt improve our chances with his dead ball skills. RW-Downing/Henderson/Kuyt DM-Lucas/Spearing Deep lying Playmaker-Adam/Gerrard/Henderson Attacking Midfielder-Gerrard/Meireles LW-Mata/Suarez CF-Suarez/Carroll/Kuyt/Wickham Some very good options going forward and importantly, much room for flexibility in terms of formation and style of play
I think Carrick is the most talented English midfielder at the moment. He has excellent passing, touch and movement. I really don't rate Adam, for his game to be good he needs to be the heartbeat of a team and he isn't good enough to do that for any side in the top 6.
We need a massive clear out, and it looks like it will happen. In midfield alone: Poulsen Cole (the new fatter Harry Kewell?) Aquiliani looks like he's definately gone. Shelvey - on loan. Althought we look a little crowded, Gerrard is more of a forward anyway, and we look set to be left with quite a lot of depth for the first time in about 20 years! Things are realy changing and it's great. Cannot wait for Konchesky/Poulsen/Cole/Jova and hopefully N'gog if we get Wickham. We might actualy be able to point at the team and not see where the obvious flaws are. Good times.
Cole (the new fatter Harry Kewell?) Any time I see that name i always think what could have been, such a disappointing and frustrating player to like or rather wanted to do well!
