Haven't got anything against arsenal, go to a couple games a year, most mates are gooners. Except the arrogance of arsenal fans pisses me off. You're not a top 2 team any more and Jack Wilshere is not God.

Being English and actually pretty good is quite a novelty for the young Arsenal fans! Its no wonder they worship him.

I don't think they will sign Chamberlain personally. He's talented clearly, but I'd imagine Arsenal would want to spend their budget on more experienced players who can help them in the here and now. Even Henderson and Jones, who have moved for big money recently, are far more mature as players.

TBF I think even the big clubs would be wise leaving him be for a season and fighting it out for him as a better player next season even if it means paying a bit more. He won't learn jack **** from being parked in a reserve team for a season+. He might stay longer if we went straight up, but that's a very big if. It would be pointless keeping him when he has a year on his contract and doesn't want to sign a new one. That's not the case now though, so it's in our hands. We could whack up his wages as an incentive to stay if Mark Chamberlain is motivated by money.

I don't know, if you want money for a player leaving it until he only has 12 months left on his contract is dangerous. I think we need to either get him signed up on a new contract or sell him now or in Janurary if he wont sign. After that his value will fall dramatically as he'll be in the last year of his contract.

its all about money with footballers these days. if he wants to be a nobody at arsenal just like theo did when his dad wanted him to go for the money, then let him. we'll bring somebody else through the academy to replace him.

Sums the situation up perfectly. Fill yer boots while you can is the name of the game for a lot of/most young players. That being the case we'll cash in IF Alex decides to go. If he wants to stay then we gain on the pitch.

At the moment the only stories i have seen about AOC leaving is from the Mirror and the Mail so not worried yet. If he does go, we must get at least 10mill and upfront, rather than installments. Cortese is stupid so hopefully that will happen should he want to leave

What can a 17/18 year old do with mega-money other than partying hard and driving very fast? It would be a shame if other people made the wrong career moves on his behalf because the short-term gains are good. Moving for money probably barely crosses his mind at the moment while he is enjoying his football. He lives with his mum after all and what he gets now will still be more than he needs. He has a whole career in front of him. If he has a great career, he'll make loads of money anyway, so it's definately worth him making the right decisions. 10m or so for us won't do much from our perspective - the plans will likely be the same with a bit spent on a replacement - the Liebherrs will just spend a bit less.

£12m for him? Sounds good but 'we' won't see that money nor will we see £12m worth of replacements. Most of it would be lining someones pockets. Selling him would be typical Saints of old.

    £12 million?

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Perhaps we could rent Ronaldo for a season.

    £12,000,000 divided by £400,000 = 30 weeks play

Portuguese isn't an insult..remember our beloved Fonte. Come to think of it..at the awards dinner Fonte was outed as the vainest player...perhaps it is a Portuguese thing.

It wasn't meant as an insult, I used it as an adjective. How can you be so racist as to consider calling somebody Portugese is an insult?

I was joking because you included it in a long list of insults. No offence.

The only Portuguese person I've ever known personallly was enormously fat.Not really a workable stereotype though.
