Best team won by a country mile and the score flattered us. Martinez today showed laudrup how to use his players to win games, Laudrup just don't have a clue and another home game where we had the majority of possession and have less shots on target..I cannot wait until he goes as his record is pathetic and is being shown up by other managers on a much too regular basis......time to go all the excuses have been exhausted...
Did anyone else? Why pick out JDG when he wasn't to blame for either goal? His link up play with Shelvey was decent and he put in some good crosses. Davies and Tremmel conspired for the goals so I suggest you direct your ire in their direction.
The bigger picture is if we keep playing like this we will be in the relegation zone come the Fulham game.
Rubbish. Two excellent strikes coupled with poor goalkeeping cost us today. Up until them we defended pretty well and Howard had to make two superb saves at the end. No need to panic just yet.
He should have been taken off at half time and ML should have pushed jonjo back into cm with Canas and put Poz in behind Bony.
De Guzman is a luxury we can do without in the second half of the season, how the hell we have him now compared to Joe Allen, makes you think? Laudrup has not addressed our front line strategy all season, or got our players to hit the target? I had us down for a 2-1 defeat, but man if we had decent players to our front line, we could easily have won that game! Are we the Premier league charity for front line basket cases?...................
Is this the same Joe Allen that has made such a huge impact at Anfield? The same one that scored all those goals for us? That Joe Allen? Oh man you guys kill me.
But dragon this is my point we do have decent players and much stronger than we have ever been, Its not the players its like i always say its the way laudrup plays his football......Its no good for a team like us and until we go back to playing like we use to play then we will only throw up the odd win here and there which is not good enough. Laudrup needs lessons from martinez and rodgers and take note because with the games we have coming up then we are heading for one of the relegation spots early in the new year and that is the most dangerous place to be at this time of the season.....We have the players ...we don't have the right manager to motivate or play the type of football that got us to the premiership in the first place....
Fully agree. The goalkeeper was the difference today. At times we played very well, passed the ball quickly around. That's exactly the way how to cope with a high pressing Everton side. But I have to admit that we are not creating enogh chances, We played today against a very strong Everton side (only lost to Manc C). If we play Bony on the top it definitely demands that the players around him are making a lot of creative and hard work for him. Too often Bony was left alone without support. On the other hand I should like to see Bony working a bit harder to bring himself in a goalscoring position. But it would be unfair to say that we didn't do well today. We really did. Just a bit unlucky not to get a draw IMO.
It was a horror show of fluffed lines up front from Hernandez, Bony, Aloevera, Routledge? how can so many of our players be this crap in front of goal?
Dai look at the stats they had more shots on not more shots in total! Also our possession was higher as well as our pass accuracy. Really give it a rest because you are being way over biased and you are showing yourself up. I think I'm going to call you Vincent Tan from now on because you are just as clueless. The game could have gone either way we missed some sitters that could have picked us up a point. I am disappointed to have lost but not so much by the performance. No shame losing like that to the in-form team of the month.
Valley/ Dragon: We must have been watching a different game. The stats showed we matched a very good Everton side and it took two worldies to beat us (both of which Vorm would have saved). Neither side created that much in fact because both defended very well. I've witnessed some horror shows this season but that wasn't really one of them.
Both sides cancelled each other out in the first half. If you look at the real chances how many were there, not many at all and thats both sides. Barclay missed what should have been a certain goal and so did Vasquez. Just un done by two class strikes, and one were Ben was VERY silly to give a free kick away, plus the ball was moved at least 5 yards or more nearer the goal. If that had been taken where it should have been then it would not have been a goal.
