Charlton fans disagreed about whether Curbishley was the right man for their club. They still haven't recovered from him leaving.

Curbishley was their manager, not their chairman so I don't see the comparisons here. Different set of responsibilities and decision making.

  3. Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto posted a picture of him and Spurs forward Emmanuel Adebayor on Twitter in apparently good spirits after watching their side lose to Liverpool.

    Class.

Whoever we get in as new manager, these two twats have to go asap. Sorry, it doesn't matter what personal fallout you may have with the manager or the board, you do not turn on the club, if for no other reason than out of respect for the fans that love it.

I now put these two scum-bags in the same bracket as The Not-Quite-So Special One, for laughing at us when Mad Dog's billions manager to scupper our chase for Willan.

No, you're right Jol didn't do too bad a job. But then, he only came in as a No.2 who then took over after yet another manager had been fired...

    The principle is the same.
Levy's not the issue here. We're currently stuck in financial limbo, with the clubs that we're competing with having far, far larger budgets and our best players being constantly picked off because of it.
There's nothing that a new chairman can do about that.

As the Grange hill Gang said
    "you can just say no"

As Liverpool did with Suarez, Rooney with Man Utd .
We have a hidden policy of selling our best , Levy gives the fans a smokescreen , gets
as much he can and net spends, while paying himself one of the highest directors salary.
The facts are we always sell and some others don't.

Man Utd said no to Rooney? They gave him a £250k pw pay rise, plus image rights. We can't afford to do that.
They also turned down an insulting low bid from Chelsea that was lower than the same club's bid for Modric, which was also turned down.
The Suarez bids from Arsenal were also comparable to the Modric bids from Chelsea. Liverpool didn't have Madrid come in for him further down the line, though. Yet.

Not this one again!!! If Real bid £50 million for Suarez you think he wouldn't have gone? As far as we know only Arsenal actually wanted him and they wern't prepared to pay what was needed, even if Pool had let him go to another PL team which I doubt. So your Liverpool saying "no" is not much of an achievement is it? Easier to stay at a club if Real aren't tapping you up. Again, who really wanted Rooney? Spurs have made enough mistakes without blaming them for things that they haven't really done! And please explain how we can compete financially with clubs that are not making any attempt at balancing their budget, where even CL money is not enough for them to break even.

this 3 mins after 'Arry says this.

"I think people are over-reacting too quickly," the former Spurs manager told Talksport. "You lose a couple of games now and you're in trouble, it shouldn't be like that. You either think somebody is good at their job or not and when you appoint someone you should give them time and let them do the job.

"I'm sure Villas-Boas will pull through it, if you give him time they will come back. It's far too early for people to start wanting to pull the plug on him, you've got to give him time and see what he can do."

    Agree with both of these.

The problem is not the selling, it's the buying.

Atletico sold Torres - bought Aguero / sold Aguero - bought Falcao

We now have a strong squad depth, which we have needed so moving forwards we just need top top players.

So many good players have flooded the market in recent years (robben, VDV and sneijder for instance, or Ba for free, Michu for 2m despite being the top scoring midfielder in the league, Llorente for free or cazorla being obviously quality)
there are still great players out there...banega, joao mutinho (who we should have bought) etc.

Clubs can sell players and move on, the problem is we didn't after Modric, (should have bought a striker and JM) and then because we failed (again) to get CL this was compounded.

Levy knows buying is our issue though, hence why we had commoli and now Baldini

We now have a very good squad, so throw in a very manager and we will start to see results.

Once we have the new stadium too we will be very financially secure, and able to afford some of the best talent in Europe....even if they don't necessarily want to come

Given how there was more support for the Glazers from Man Utd fans season upon season even though it is obvious they are bad for the club, there comes a point where asking fans their opinion of the owners is a waste of time. See also: Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, West Ham.

In a way I'm glad we've made the decision rather than wait.

Thinking about the game yesterday, I couldn't foresee a time in the future when the team would suddenly click and performances would improve/goals scored etc. - not under his management.

Maybe that's the definition of the modern day impatient fan I don't know but I just hadn't seen any real improvement under him.

And let's face it - we have been rubbish since January this year - it was only Bale scoring worldies every weekend that kept sneaking wins.

We started I'm sure you recall as you are one of the 'senior' members like myself. Greavsie was the first £1,000 a week footballer but he didn't count it, he drank it.

I recall Cliff Jones in that game looking like 60s Greavsie by comparison.

Is Levy the "CEO" in this example ??
If so, the company is owned by 2 people. And the CEO is the one with a 29% share.
