Suarez was bought before you got the Torres money. Henderson's had a few good games this year granted but still a long way to go before he repays that outlay. As for Downing and Carroll.....
Guss wouldn't take the poisoned chalice would he? They'd be far better off with a Warnock, Megson, Allardyce type to steady the ship. Edit: just saw the Zola has left Watford for the Lane, congrats I wish him well.
McClaren's actually an underrated manager. He's done some pretty impressive stuff, it's just that he's a bit of a pillock. Won the Eredivisie with a club that wasn't Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV, took Boro to a European final and kept them in the top flight, yet West Ham fans thought that he wasn't good enough for them. Should be swapping divisions with that lot at the end of the season though, if he keeps up his impressive run at Derby. Played ten, won eight, drawn one and lost one. Wouldn't want him at WHL and he's just started a new job, but he's better than a lot of people out there.
Check your facts. Suarez was bought in the same window as Torres who signed at the 11th hour for us. The idea was to play them together but he handed in a request and you replaced him with Carroll.
Suarez signed after Torres was out of the helicopter at the bridge, it was a phone call from the ladyboy that persuaded Suarez to sign for us.
The deal was already done by then, regardless of ink to paper. He'd had his medical 2 days before deadline day. Liverpool only accepted our offer on deadline day. Fact is, the Torres sale contributed nothing to Suarez coming in. That money was spent primarily on Carroll. Surely you're not disputing that?
Ink on paper makes it a legal and binding deal, as stated earlier the two players were never at the same club at the same time end of.
