I think we all felt the meaning behind your post at half-time Loopy. It was a poor half, of boring football. I will be worried if we are still playing the same way after January as then it will mean another panic summer. In the meantime, we are winning, albeit ugly...and for the time being that has to be good enough. Hopefully the champagne football will come in time, then we can enjoy watching again.
First half was awful, but the second wasn't 'winning ugly': we played some excellent stuff and the second goal was superb.

To me winning ugly is getting outplayed for a whole game, and scoring a goal with one of only a couple of shots. Yeovil away is the closest we came to that. Every team has a couple of games they win when not the best team on the pitch and I don't think we're doing so any more than other teams. Plus add to that the 6 games we've drawn we've had more possession each game and more shots on goal in 5 of the 6 games. So there are a lot uglier teams than us out there.
Alan McAnally summed it up on Sky when he said 'these possession statistics don't mean anything - all they do is pass it sideways'.
Shots dont prove much, shots on target are a much better example, can you post them? IIRC we have an awful record of % of shots on target.
LoopyR, You, like everyone else are entitled to voice your own opinion, that's what the forum is all about but when you start telling people to **** off and so on, you've overstepped the mark. Suggest you get your house in order.

Had the 2nd half played out like the 1st, I imagine you'd have got a lot more support Yappy. As it was, you dived in early with 2 feet and have rightfully been sent off. It wasn't a good first half by any stretch, but good that we pulled together, kept a clean sheet away from home, tool control of the game and did what we came to do. Good to see Phillips running onto a through ball for the 2nd goal as a winger should. I hope that moment was the beginning of us committing to wingers playing a pacey, wide dangerous role in our ever changing team.
true - but it does mean you have the ball and they don't. (Obviously if you do **** all with your possession then it really does mean nothing.)
The highlights didn't show the possession we had prior to the second goal, yes we were passing side to side waiting for Blackpool to open up, when the time was right we opened them up brilliantly
