And Lambert's last shot on target came against Hull, and was that penalty. Before that, his last shot on target was against Fulham...in October. Not really loving who has gone off here.
Well at least Rodriguez, our top scorer, is playing up front now. I can't help but feel he offers more than Osvaldo right now. Playing 45 minutes is a lot easier than playing 90.
But that is often because Lambert is playing centrally, deeper and with his back to goal. He was most effective for us last season playing deeper or wider facing the opposition.
I don't disagree, but I'd rather have both Osvaldo and Rodriguez alongside Lallana. I love Rickie, but he hasn't offered anything for quite a few games...hopefully he pops up with a couple and makes me look silly.
But why risk tearing Schneiderlin's groin and him being out a lot longer if there is any doubt. Change of Lambert and Rodriguez's position and we are more positive.
He's had few really good games under Pochettino. He wasn't good in the last 11 or 12 games of last season, I know people were blaming injuries/fatigue which was probably fair, but still. He does have spells where he's old Rickie but it's worryingly infrequent these days.
I'd have rather kept Dani on for the link-up with the other faster players, but Rodriguez is pressing the back line as the highest man. Nice ball from Rickie just then, and we look a little better. Keep it up!
He's put in a couple of good balls for Rodriguez already, hopefully more of that kind of thing to come. Well obviously he's no longer injured but the lack of training means he isn't fully fit. I wouldn't say it's a risk.
Well you'd have to take him off at half time then, and it's easier to play in the second half because everyone else is more tired as well. To be honest he's probably only on now because we need him.
