Got it wrong last night. Chicago were too good in the cold for the soft arses from Dallas. Well done Truth.
Felix Yonger has been brilliant so far over fences but I'm not sure if he's beaten all that much. Twinlight is okay. It would need to be a weak renewal for him to win.
Morning, crew. How are we??? Good, good. Liven up a bit though. Cor blimey! The beast with big career questions to answer today must be African Gold (12.50 Uttoxeter). Purchased for a huge number of sheep by the 11th richest man in Wales, over the summer, he wasn’t exactly inspiring first time up over the big ‘uns and needs a tip top performance this afternoon to get his career back on the old tracks. Certainly only a watching brief for me though. I note that Mullins piece doesn’t mention the beast that has just been bought for an absolute, an I do mean absolute, fortune – the 3YO Allez Colombieres. He’s 3 from 3 in completed races across the Channel and last time out had clock watchers absolutely Purring with a capital 'P'. Only quoted by a couple of bookie chappies re Cheltenham though. Good luck to those wager this afternoon.
Possibly not MOG, and I'm talking complete ballicks as usual - Twinlight won three chases last season, so wouldn't be elegible anyway. I don't know where he will get placed given the other stable stars, but I'm convinced he has improved tremendously this season Edit: who killed my bug? He's been stationary a long time!
Cheers Bob dont know what happens to Dallas in December cant put too much on Romo there the defence stunk On the horsies bullish about a big run from King Zeal in the next at Uttox
I see Cheltenham’s Grade 2 International Hurdle, on Saturday, is looking very much a 2 horse affair. Both The New One and Zarkander are top quality (both perched on 167) but the other 5 entries look nowhere near up to the grade (in fact 4 of them are rated 140 or lower). A real shame that other decent hurdlers haven’t been asked to compete for the £130k prizepot. Didn’t see the race but ‘Sporting Life’ say African Gold hit the deck then 3 out at Uttoxeter. Still has a lot to prove over fences, methinks.
Good shout on di kaprio wasnt going to look today but as pbew posted I tought i would look if di kaprio hadnt have beat finding your feet the fav it would have smelt bad having beat him on worse terms with the same jockeysand 8s pays for the patent I have had so cheers. pbew picking templegates nap again hussar ballad clear fav could and should be tested by no win no fee personally though my sort of bet is comedy house in the 240 at 20s massive ew value good luck all
News regarding 2 former Champion Hurdlers that may be of interest: 1) Binocular retired due to a "small heart issue" 2) Rock On Ruby going novice chasing
My goodness, just read it, this guy really knows his stuff. Don't bet ante-post at all, especially for the Cheltenham Festival where prices nearer the day are almost always very good (and SPs aren't bad either), but this blog makes me think again on specific cases. Thanks TC, good article.
