After my disappointment at missing Comet Ison [it's gone and it ain't ever coming back] there comes news of a newly discovered super-giant planet that is 11 times bigger than Jupiter. Because it estimated to be only 13M years old it is said to be still glowing hot after its formation. Its discovery is accompanied by the usual questions of how things are formed, and what new questions this throws up. It just shows that astronomical physics has barely got a grip on this universe.

Slug and Lettuce sign: take a seat, we'll be with you soon. Turns out they mean take a seat on the sofa, not at a table. Obviously...

They do quite a nice steak and cheese sandwich, though.

Slug and lettuce do a good burger with a really spicy homemade coleslaw side. I was quite surprised at that.

    Honda's brand spanking new VFR800 for 2014:

    And here's mine from 2000:

[OK, this one is from 1998, but apart from fat indicator stems they're visually identical]

Mine is in perfectly good condition, has the more powerful engine, with gear driven cams, and I don't have to pay out £10.5k to ride it. Am I missing something here..?

Yes, well I slightly fell out of love with it after all the the cloudy morning skies and Comet Ison disintegrating, so I didn't get to see it. It's out there in tiny little pieces that are too small and feint for my telescope.

I've just seen the deodorant advert again where it has an apparent motion sensor in its specification. Surely, someone should take the company to the advertising standards agency..? It's not a motion sensor. It's a perspiration blocker which works pretty well when you put it to the test, by working or playing hard. Of course, you'll get quite hotter if you wear it, rather than being cooler, but sticky and smellier if you don't.

Where's Steinberg today? I don't want to be alone in mourning the Survivor thing.

I'd normally not be mad at this kind of thing, cause it was a great hoax, but seriously **** that guy. I want Fallout 4 :(

Disappointed. If it's released in 2015, not only is it unlikely that my laptop will be up to it, but I wouldn't be able to get it at an 80% discount until 2016, dammit.

    Tbh, I don't know.

What I would like to know is if anyone would answer any questions..? There's no point in opening little exchanges if people just keep putting forward their own points without answering previous ones.

    Don't you think..?

Yeah that is somewhat a downer. Also i' annoying that the weather is invariably overcast whenever something astronomically interesting is due to take place. How big's your telescope? At least leaving near Southampton there's places nearby without much light pollution I'd imagine, like the new forest.

In other news, I'm ashamed to say, the song Story of My Life by One Direction is actually not that bad. :emoticon-0111-blush

If this is about nobody answering your Lovren owls thing, then I'd imagine nobody has answered because everyone who has seen it would reply "I don't know" which isn't a very productive discussion. No need to have just one string of dialogue going, is there?

No, it's not. It's about people having little conversations and ignoring others. Personally, I try to be inclusive. I try to have a conversation with as many as I can. I try not to leave anyone out. If I notice someone is being neglected I try to give an answer. OK, I'm probably in the position where I'm more inclined to make people feel welcome, but I would suggest that people want to keep conversations between themselves then they can PM each other. Or am I making an unreasonable point..?

I posted a moany thesurvivor post earlier which nobody picked up on. Fine, I thought, but I knew one member definitely would (and potentially others who hadn't seen it), so I brought it up again. Three different people commented on the particular subject - that's not a particularly private and exclusive conversation, is it?
