Panesaar and Stokes in.....not sure of batting order yet but not sure Stokes is the right call at all. Surely we needed more batting power
Alastair Cook (C) Michael Carberry Joe Root Kevin Pietersen Ian Bell Ben Stokes Matt Prior (W) Stuart Broad Graeme Swann James Anderson Monty Panesar Stokes?! **** me... Guy isn't good enough batsman of bowler to be in the team. Panesar is a risk but if they think the pitch is going to spin then fair enough.
I just think they've lost the plot on this tour for some bizarre reason. Anyway fingers crossed I actually get to see some play before I fall asleep Bloody aussie weather eh
It's like being back in England Can't believe they went off for 5 minutes because of a bit of drizzle. Took them longer to get the covers on than it was raining for.
Doesn't help itself sometimes cricket does it Could do with getting Warner out early see if we can rattle their top order but he looks a solid player unfortunately.
Think we're going to have to do what we did first innings of the first test and try and skittle all the others around Warner. Looks like a lifeless pitch but then we said that last time and we still couldn't get a decent score.
Just need to chip away at them. There's plenty of runs to be had but we need to limit them as best we can....then remember how to fookin' bat
That Carberry drop of Haddin at the end was nothing short of disgusting. I would really feel the need to drop him for it, utterly ridiculous. He owes his bowlers a big century now. We've no chance if they keep spilling catches.
So. 273 - 5. That Haddin drop could prove horrifically expensive. As Rufflad said, Carberry owes us a big century. Could have been worse. but it could have been a hell of a lot better.
We dropped 3 ffs so frustrating.... but....we have kept ourselves in with a shout at least. If we can limit them to 400 and score something similar then the two spinners might just make the difference.
Saw those drops, 1st one being Monty off his own bowling, was hit quite hard back at him, I'm thankful he stopped a boundary. Root's chance would have been a worldie had he taken it, so not gonna have a go at him for not holding on. Carberry... well, that's just with a bit FFS thrown in for good measure!
I'd have been confident of knocking them over tomorrow morning had we taken Hadin at the end, but he can stick around and score quickly and Clarke is on fire.. Keeping them under 400 won't matter a jot if we bat like a bunch fannies in our first innings!
