Kelly was crocked before he played for the first team, thrusting him at RB didn't help though. Flanagan never impressed me and I'm still not sure he'll make it in the PL.

Wisdom, no clue. I don't think we've destroyed him. He's too good for the reserves and needs game time. If you're good enough, doesn't matter about age.

  2. I agree with all that. I was only pissing about with the "destroyed them" comment <ok>

Flanagan did well when he got in the first team under Kenny but quickly slipped away again. Hopefully, he's learnt his lesson from last time that the hard work begins now.

Wisdom is doing well at Derby but see my opinion on the Championship in the "Moses" thread. Kelly needs moving inside but is he good enough at CB? Especially considering the talent with have there.

Like I said, I can't see Kelly with us beyond the summer. Not with Sakho, Ilori and Wisdom as the young talented ones and Toure and Agger as the experienced heads. Skrtel will likely be sold in the summer (sad face).

Montoya and Tello are better than 'potentials' but I see your concern. Both are young and both may need time to adjust and settle but that risk runs with absolutely anyone we sign. Even with the British players Kenny and Commoli signs!

But Montoya and Tello are highly rated at Barca and for good reason. Montoya is enjoying some playing time in Alba's absence and is impressing, despite playing at left back. Tello is a better option than Sterling, Ibe and Moses so I'd definitely take him.

However, if we're looking at attackers - I would prefer Xherdan Shaqiri. Such a clever little player who is wasted at Bayern - definitely the type of attacker we want, one who can play in a number of positions across the midfield.

    My ideal January:

    M'Vila
    Montoya
An Attacker - either in the form of a striker or attacking mid

Strengthen each line/area of the team

We've also been watching Danny Ings, from Burnley.

    No lie ...

  8. Fair enough. Not sure we should be signing people because they are better than Sterling, Ibe and Moses but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it like that either <ok>

Yes I did. They are better than our current options. The same logic I applied when we signed Sturridge. His signing wasn't met too positively by some, but I was happy because he was better than Borini and gave us another option.

Plays for Burnley. Scored around 11 goals in about 15 matches this season, youngster blah blah.

Is he the right level for us?

  12. I didn't want us to sign Sturridge. He's been great but the reasons why I didn't want him still stand tall <ok>

Decent youngster, good for the future but he wouldn't be close to our starting line up. Only 21.

We have to remember there's a huge difference with being on the fringe at Barca than being a squad player here.

We could do with a number of Barca's lesser lights - Adriano, Montoya, Sergi Roberto, Song, Tello, Cuenca could all get games with our current squad.

EDIT: Don't think the Ings thing is true.

Haha - another versatile inside forward/ inverted winger in the Rodgers' mould.

Dubbed the new Messi as well. On loan at Hellas Verona but contracted to Porto which means they'll keep him for a few more years and sell him for a huge profit.
