ok, given the win on Saturday, I think it's odds on Chris will be manager for the foreseeable future, certainly he will be given the January transfer window?
This is unless we go on a fulham-esque run of 5 straight defeats
 
I guess it still depends on the perceived availablitity of a quality replacement. If a large amount of effort had been spent by DM and co looking into viable alternatives and they had identified one then in spite of the 3pts gained on saturday I could still see him getting canned. Whilst the 3 points was an extremely welcome fillup, lets not kid ourselves that it was not another 45 minute performance and narrow win against very poor oposition.

I disagree about palace being very poor GM, pulis would have got them fired up for the game. I can see their results improving soon (when was the last time they lost heavily?) and them turning over wet sham tomorrow night at home.
 
To be fair though, fired up or not they just lost again, to a poor Norwich side with a number of players injured. They have 7 points from 13 games. If they cannot be labelled as poor or very poor then must I start watching 1p5wich's highlight real?
Fine they gave a little endeavour and they worked hard to impress their new gaffer, but they certaintly lack quality and by premier league standards are very poor.
I think that it will require a significant January spend for CP to really see their results improving. To be fair, to have even got Pullis to consider taking the job, I imagine they must have promised him a half tidy kitty come january. He'll want to get a proper target man for a start, I wouldn't be surprised to see him raid Stoke for a couple of his old boys, Delap?

I think it's worth noting that 4 of Palace's 7 points came in their previous two matches, including a win at Hull (who beat Liverpool yesterday). It'll be interesting to see what they do at home against West Ham tomorrow night. As for CH, I'd agree that he'll probably have until the end of December now. The run of WBA(a), Swansea(h), Sunderland(a), and Fulham(h) on Boxing day will probably determine his fate then. At least 5-6 points needed from those unless the unexpected happens at Anfield and/or Man Utd(h) on the 28th.
 
I think Pulis will stiffen them defensively but they will still struggle to get goals.Their only hope is a few one nils but I think there may be more nil nils which are not much use when you are 20th.I will be very surprised if Palace reach 30 points and/or don't finish bottom.CH will be there in May.

Irrespective of the matches against Liverpool and Utd, we should be targeting 7 points from those four fixtures.


As for Liverpool, this might be the first time we play a "big" club who aren't in good form. Luck turning? I doubt we'll even get a sniff, but this is the first time I've felt even remotely positive about Liverpool away in a long time.

The 5-6 points were a 'minimum' required, Rob. The target would be more like 7-8 points.

Just so that the rest of us can be clear, which of the teams currently in places 10 to 20 in the league do you rate "not poor"? <ok>

The basis of my statement was a combination of CP being poor because they look to have players out of their depth, very few points so far and from admittedly limited viewings of their football so far, under that rational, there could easily be a few others that maybe considered poor, but I have not seen enough of many of them to form any strong opinion. As examples I would think Sunderland and Fulham are poor but having not seen them play a full game it would be something of a guess. To the crux of what your really getting at though, yes from seeing Norwich (minimum of 60 minutes highlights per game) over the season so far I would consider them a poor team, however unlike CP I think there is greater potential and more quality in the squad, I consider us poor because a) we get nothing llike the best out of those players, b) we have a bad tendency to getting thrashed, c) we have very little creativity d) we have a clueless manager who will only play possibly our most creative player if pretty much all other options are unavailable to him!

Do we have a "clueless manager" or do we have a "clueless section of our fan base"?

Personally my money is on the latter, certainly that's where the evidence appears to be leading me <ok>
 
At the moment, City have 14 points compared to the 15 points they had after 13 games last season, when they were 6 games into the 10 game unbeaten run which was followed by 4 straight defeats, each by a single goal. The next 5 games offer a reasonable chance for a good points accumulation. Halfway through the season, we should have a much better idea as to who is clueless or not. It's about results, not opinions.
