No, but it appears to have entered some sort of time lapse and been bumped down a page, somehow. Weird.
Can anyone picture how much enjoyment Ronaldo will get from this article. Zidane is storing up trouble there I think. Good. http://www.givemesport.com/406990-zinedine-zidane-bale-can-be-better-than-me?tg=/football
So Britain's no.1 diver admits being in a relationship with another man please log in to view this image Has anyone told his girlfriend? How come Ashley's picture has gone?? Oh, it's back!
Is he dead? Why didn't someone, or the media, say something earlier? Although a great man, don't forget the armed violence he championed. As we saw after his release, non-violence stopped the apartheid.
There's going to be a minute's applause for Mandela at Premier League games this weekend. The Premier League and The FA are both thankful that West Ham are playing away this weekend, then...
Not exactly, he favoured limited armed resistance, and without endangering life. I think a little violent resistance is called for when you are banned from areas of your own country because of the colour of your skin. His actions were not unreasonable. I have a rule in life, if Margaret Thatcher took a view on anything, my view was opposite (admittedly only of limited use), and she thought he was a terrorist.
David Cameron is guilty of forgetting something when eulogising Mandela... please log in to view this image
Back to football.I was glad to see photos of Mike England and Alan Gilzean as they were inducted into the Spurs hall of fame. To those who never saw them...a couple of great players. Gilly! I can still see him turning his defender into knots and seemingly always winning those headers against anyone. Mike.!Big old center half could, usually, take care of any center forward. But sometimes seemed to get bored playing the Blackpools and Boltons of those days... My favourite memory of England was when Derrick Dougan of Wolves deliberately injured Cliff Jones.Mike went looking for him and was continually kicking the Doug up in the air!!!!! Alan, like Greaves,a class act.So many memories but my favourite was beating Yeats of Liverpool in the air to score a brilliant headed goal.Jim also scored with a header in that game...and that was a surprise! Great to see photos of the pair and wish them good health for the future!!!!!!...not sure if Gilly still likes a drink.......?
I thought Mike England looked very good for his age in the pictures shown on the site. Both players remain two of my all time favourites. Good to see Gilzean back at the club, because I believe at one time he was living as a recluse and shunning all attempts at contact from the club.
I did read,in his playing days, that he was a bit of a recluse, going off to a bar somewhere for a wee dram or three! But he must have got a bit better because he produced a footballing son of his own!(Wonder where the boy is today?)
Remember The Gillies song to the tune of Noel, Noel: Gilzean, Gilzean, Gilzean, Gilzean, Born is the King of White Hart Lane You could really belt that one out! Sounded great. The chorus to the The First Noel was never the same after that........
Sadly the fans these days prefer to sing "stand up if you hate Arsenal" than songs in praise of our players.
Maggie.Looks like you've been around for a while, too! That one was as good as "Nice One Cyril!" as Cyril sythed someone down!!!! Oh! .....and "Tra La La Mullery!"
Drives me mad aswell, In games v Arsenal, fine, but every game, home and away??? bit embarrassing really, and incredibly dim, you're not supposed to stand up at all seater stadiums!
