Given our current position, do you think we can maintain it?
Are we realistic contenders for a top four finish?
Will MA invest in January to try to get in the top four?
 
Novchanc, if we psick up key injuries to people like remy we wil start to struggle. However if we do strenghten in jan and those player come into a side full of confidence ill be hoping top 7.
 
I wanted top 8 this season, and we seem on a good course. What with so called bigger teams faltering, we could finish in a very decent position
 
Top 4? No not at all. I'll still be happy with a top 10 finish. That would be good for a squad of our quality and depth.
 
We are on a good run but lets not get a head of ourselves, as other people have mentioned 7/8th would be a very good and more realistic finish.
 
We all know 7/8 is where we realistically can aim for.
If we do any better then I'll stand in Fenwicks window in a SAFC shirt and my fat, hairy arse pressed against the window.

Oops sorry!

I think top 10 will be great to be honest, everyone's banging on about the gap we have built up but 2 defeats and we're back scrapping with the likes of Villa again. Not convinced Willo and Shola will keep up this form for long and Remy's goals look to have dried up going by yesterday.

Sadly I think our good run is set to end rather imminently, but we've done far better than I'd have suspected so can't grumble.

Remember how utterly shocking we always are around xmas, so it's lucky we've stockpiled some points for the winter freeze!

My only hope is still that we don't tumble down a precarious table and get ourselves embroiled in another dogfight...

And the flow chart we can't cope due to lack of strength and depth sadly.
 
If we are to challenge we'd beat Swansea, Southampton and Palace taking 9 points from our next 12. I don't think we're capable of taking 21 points out of a possible 24. I think we'll get 6 points from the next 12 available which is still a very good return.
 
It can't be even a serious question top 4 surely? I know people look at the league now but its still early days. When Remy said it the other week I was pissing myself laughing, we have to be realistic. We are miles behind at least 6 or 7 sides. Not impossible because this is football, but logically just never gonna happen. Breaking the top 8 would be massive for us.

I agree. However it's much nicer to be talking about the top four than it is the bottom four.

Top eight would be very good but if we got to January and we're still in the mix, with few injuries then we'd have a shout (albeit a small one).

If I was offered 8th now I'd take it though, that goes without saying.
