Cycling is a sport I've never got.

There's some sports that I don't like but I can see why people watch them, i.e. Darts, but cycling is so God damn boring.

Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I don't mind the cycling events in the Olympics but never watch it normally. Maybe cos we do so well and i'm too patriotic.

Isn't Yorkshire as a county trying to get the tour de france (well pre tour de france/ warm up races) to come here? Started in London last year didn't it.

We've got the Tour of Britain coming thru Norfolk here, passing Sandringham. The TdF seems to be run a bit like F1 and is open to offers (kickbacks?).

So very FIFA:emoticon-0150-hands

Lots of similarities:

Guys in brightly-coloured kit of man-made fibres, covered in adverts.
Drug cheats.
Fouling b*stards.
Suspensions and bans.
Sex scandals.

....What more do you need?:emoticon-0105-wink:

Last stage today.....about an hour in there's a breakaway group, but no challenge (yet) to Wiggers. He's still leading by 1min 26secs as the race heads up to a haut categoire climb; then there's a swoop down, before the final climb up a categoire 1 struggle to the finish. It's tight, with Cadel Evans and Vinokourov breathing down his neck. He has to stay with them, or they'll eat into his lead and, on these climbs, it's easy to lose 1' 26".

Result!!

Bradley Wiggins (Sky) wins Criterium de Dauphine.

This is, hopefully, a pointer to the Tour de France, which starts on July 2nd.

Chapeau! Chapeau! <ok>

Must have been some pretty rubbish climbers in that race! I've decided to go and watch the nodding dog stuff tomorrow at Queens (student's prerogative). £10 to see a singles and a doubles final seems good value and worthy of a long lunch!

What happens if it's raining again?
