I agree with Puck...he tried to play it (as no doubt instructed), then couldn't get the ball onto his better left foot. He never meant to do several touches...had no intention of trying a Cruyff turn...just isn't as good with his feet as an outfield player (though all goalkeepers think they are).

And he wasn't poor throughout....did some good stuff against the team top of the league.

He's right-footed, and he clearly was trying to do a Cruyff turn. His kicking was not great for the whole game either, though at least afterwards he didn't try anything fancy.

Let's be honest, he had a very poor game. But he's still the best goalkeeper we have so we might as well get over it and hope he does too.

Lets face it and except, he probably made the worse single mistake of his goalkeeping career with that disastrous manoeuvre......While it may be true that he has saved us more points than he has lost. it is non the less an error that should not have happened and unfortunately is not the first time he has done something so erratic.
It would not surprise me if another keeper of equal ability is not brought in with in the next 12 months. As good as he is no one will except too many more errors like that, no matter how we the fans are fond of him.

If the fans get behind him, I have no doubt he will.

My support of Boruc is far from wavering. But he does seem to have put a bit of weight back on again?

All top keepers make mistakes. It's how you react that keeps you there.

Boruc played well, apart from his kicking (how many times have we heard that about Davis?). I think one problem is the way he handles himself. When everything is going well it looks like confidence, when its not it can look like arrogance.

I can understand the idea behind a short pass to a colleague but how often does that lead directly to a goal? Quite often a hoof up the field will result in possession and possibly a chance as the defence will have less time to organise themselves. Now I'm not suggesting we turn into Wimbledon but throughout the team there were occasions on Saturday when things were happening too slowly and this thing with Boruc was just an exaggeration of that.

What actually caused him to do it was presumably the Arsenal players closing down and marking our players so there was no easy outlet. In other words doing to us what we have done to others all season.

I resisted the arrogant little pedant in me.

on the subject of pedantry...........is it national swap the words accept for except day? several posters using the wrong one both ways ;)

I'm guessing Lff did it on purpose though.

Yes, thanks for coming to my rescue. It was my feeble attempt at pedantry humour but as the song goes:

Hey you, you're such a pedant,
You've got as much brain as a dead ant,
As much imagination as a caravan site.
But I still love you…………..etc

A classic!

I know that we have only conceded 7 goals against, but is anyone miffed like me that the last four have been completely unnecessary! They have ranged from the ridiculous goal kick, two mistakes by Boruc and Wanyama and a completely unnecessary penalty to give away

You can't blame the Stoke goal on Boruc for ****s sake!
