ji Dong Won is supposed to be quite good, but in all honesty i have never seen him play, which is suprising as according to his wiki page 2010-2011 Sunderland 32 (9) so i must have been dozing off when he done all that lol I think part of it is, in Korea they love him, so if we buy him for 2 million (got no idea of the price btw) we will easily sell that many shirts (whether they will be real or counterfeight is the problem though) so we should make our cash back quite easy, and maybe make it back in the first few days of buying him, it will also raise our profile in asia (just like elmo/gyan will in africa) which means more shirt sales, more merchandise sold = more cash to spend. I have no problem with this buy at all, even if we have to sell him in 1 or 2 years if he doesnt make it, it will raise our profile in asia and thats good enough for me.
Absolutely spot on Steve. The financial rewards from this deal could be huge. I believe the transfer fee is £1.3m which is **** all in todays market. IMO, it's a win, win situation, a great bit of business by the club.
Its a frustrating time mitch and I feel that frustration, however. Mitch has a point in his OP. How come when we are selling, the deals are done in the time it takes to cook Sunday lunch, yet when we are buying, it drags on for weeks? Something not right there.
