Some have been critical of Bony, but from what I can gather, more are more critical of our wingers, as recently they have been more interested in coming inside, rather than stay out wide, run to the byeline and cross.

We did however do that a bit more in the Stoke game, and we seen what Bony can bring to the game when we are not forced into playing narrow football, allowing the opposition defence to close the space. When the wingers stuck to the wing, Bony had more space to work his magic, and had he have had a touch more confidence going into the game, he could have scored a hatrick, as the 1 on1 with the stoke keeper could be seen that the mistake was largely down to a lack of confidence in himself, he seemed to stutter at the last minute. When he got the goal he looked a different beast altogether, and as long as we supply a half decent service, he will score goals. The issue for me is that when Michu returns, will our wingers revert to coming back inside again.

The only other striker that has played is an on loan striker, so no, we don't have any other strikers to add to compare :)

what is the point of this thread if it isn't to antagonize and say my dad is bigger than your dad...nobody can compare bony to cornelius as he has not played, for all we know he might be another van p. all we should worry about is that bony is the right player for us and so far he is..

I know your list only contained players bought this summer, but I'd like to chuck Frazier Campbell in too. £650,000, played 3 scored 2. Not bad <ok>

No, Aber, I'm not saying Dai is right because where Laudrup is concerned I think he's gone OTT. But he's fully entitled to his opinion and to express it here.

Where we do agree is that Laudrup is not infallible. He makes mistakes like everyone else and a number of us on this board couldn't understand his reluctance to start Bony more often. The facts are clear. When Bony plays, the team scores twice as many goals as when he doesn't. When Bony plays, the time between goals is halved!!

It could be that Michu's injury is a blessing in disguise because now Bony HAS to start and Laudrup has acknowledged the contribution he's making. Hopefully, Michu will come back refreshed and with the two of them firing, we should start climbing the table.

I mentioned it when Michu was injured that Bony may bang in a few, now Laurup has publically stated he will not rush Michu back into the team. Common sense but is there a sub-plot here? If Bony, at 5' 10" needs to lose a stone I best get back on the treadmill!

He is so ****ing solid though. If you're 5 feet 10 inches (1.77M) and 13 and a half stone (85 Kilos) AND you're not fat (which despite such comments being made he definitely ain't) then you're packing a hell of a lot of muscle. I should know. This is me.

As you can tell I've been a serious gym junkie for years.

KJ, you're one scary guy. I hope you keep your chihuahua leashed.

Edit: I meant KJ, not NJ - that way lies misunderstanding!!

I'm happy with Bony, and I see him only getting better as the season goes on, he's very reminiscent of Scotland to some extent, in the way he needs to adjust and get fit, of course Scotland couldn't header a ball for love of money, but Bony certainly can, he'll do us proud I'm sure, hope the stats continue to prove his price tag!................

I've said for ages that he reminds me of a Prem version of Scotland. Particularly his strength on the ball.
