We've been over this ground before & you've ignored it, so no point in going into the detail again, other to mention that careful reading of the GFH press release was the order of the day if you wanted to understand what they appeared to say but actually did say by omission & close examination. I believe it's called spin these days. PR when I were 't a lad.
I didn't see Calendar, so can't comment. Suspect the wording requires scrutiny again. Lucas being involved in a takeover bid doesn't necessarily mean that the takeover offer has been presented to GFH. I can say no more than that without having the precise statements to hand.
I must state categorically, once again for your deaf ears, that I am not a LUST apologist. I question, challenge & scrutinise everything they do as much as I possibly can at public meetings, rather than spout anti LUST propoganda without justification. Basically, I come to decisions myself by asking direct questions in the right places, rather than make it up as I go along, unlike yourself. I challenge you to go to the next LUST public meeting to launch your conspiracy theories at them. Will be entertaining for us all, no doubt. Might shut you up!

Sheldon, only mentioned you as you're a Harrogate lad, as is Glory.
As is happens, your post is a very good one. Can't find much to disagree with.
Got this from Waccoe. Seems to be a source of much discussion. Mail from a journo to one of the posters. I make no comment other than that ....
Hi Paul,
A group including former Sunderland director Mike Farnham, as well as Adam Pearson, Gary Verity (Yorks tourism bloke) and one or two others, bid £7m for 80pc of Leeds at lunchtime today.
Lucas's involvement, such as it is, is minor to the point of not really having any involvement. He knows some of those involved and of course would jump at a position in a post-takeover landscape. But his name is being used as leverage with fans rather than because he's got active involvement or cash.
That's today's story. You've seen the spokesman for GFHC's statement; they're not taking this bid seriously and won't countenance it.
Here's where the 'problem' of GFHC comes in (in as much as I see it as a GFHC problem, and I'm sure we differ on this, but so be it).
The problem: GFHC won't ever accept an offer that doesn't hand them back what they've spent plus a chunk of change for their troubles, ideally a big chunk. Yet while they hold out for that, the chances of anyone with serious wonga taking them up on it are slim: why would anyone do that? Prince Abdullah - and not only him - walked away having offered to put cash into the club, rather than GFHC pockets. Of course there's a lot of Catch 22 here. Without GFCH, you're left with bogeyman Bates. But now he's gone, you're still left with a club that needs some cash for that push to get you up.
Your manager is a good bloke and great coach and of course this is a chance he might get you up anyway. That's what GFHC are hoping, and if it happens, big slaps on the back all round because their gamble will have paid off, big time. They'll sell for a nice profit, or stay and enjoy longer profits. But the gamble element is very much there until you go up.
That's all I've got for you today.

Cant believe I'm saying this but you may have a point even if you are wummingGFH paid £22M for Leeds - and that was over the odds as they have since found.
If Elland Road and Thorpe Arch was part of the package they would have been getting a bargain, but as they were not, they were sold a dud.
Without the ground and training ground, what do you seriously think Leeds is worth? The income you generate just about covers costs at the moment so there is no profit to be had - FFP now stops the buying your way to Premiership like QPR did (they are about to get a very large fine as a consequence) and the parachute money the relegated clubs are getting means they are in a far better position than Leeds.
£7M for 80% seems about right to me - Put it this way - In 2004 Krasner tried to sell the club to Sebastien Sainsbury for £22M and you owned the ground and Thorpe Arch then. You sold Elland Road for £10M so the rest of the club was valued at £12M (including Thorpe Arch)![]()
TC ... in Krasner's days the club was in administration, and being run by an auctioneer ... the aim was simple, sell whatever someone would buy, and therefore any valuations were severely skewed in favour of the buyer. Leeds United as a club, with its fan base and potential, is worth a darn sight more than £22m. Anyone can see that if you get it right and get Leeds to the Prem the financial rewards will be massive. Sheldon, your piece about GFH/LUST is extremely well thought through and clearly explained. Good one.

Oh TC ... you can do so much better
