Manchester United duo Brown and OâShea wait on offers before Sunderland decision by Jack Failsworth. Published Fri 10 Jun 2011 16:00, Last updated: 2011-06-10 Manchester United duo Brown and OâShea wait on offers before Sunderland decision According to reports Manchester United defenders Wes Brown and John O'Shea are keeping their options open regarding their futures. It is understood that Sunderland have tabled a bid of £12 million for the pair plus midfielder Darron Gibson. The Daily Star claims Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is waiting to hear back from Brown and OâShea but it is expected that Gibson will make the move to the north-east. It seems that the two United stalwarts are waiting to see if there is interest from clubs at the higher end of the Premier League table before committing to a switch to the Stadium of Light. Indeed, Brown has been linked with both Tottenham and Everton. GOOD, please do a Nugent.
Then its easy, Gibson signs and we withdraw offers for the other two. I dont mind the offer and would have no problem with all 3 but players either want to come, talk and decide or they dont. I respected Crouch who came then decided, he did not say, well if thhats my only option I will take a look. Come on Quinn, take control.
Someone has got to take control as you said, make a statement here and there, keep the fans on board, Rudderless ship at the moment, dont think its being devious, to fool people, dont think Sunderland have that hard as bell metal craft ,that Man U and Spurs seem to have, our lot are not good at poker, so it would seem.
Gibson seems very keen to come to us, which is pleasing. As for the other two, I'm not interested in Brown, so couldn't care less where he goes. O'Shea is very versatile, which is handy, considering the amount of injuries we seem to suffer from every season. He has vast experience and a good fitness record, so yes, I would like to see him sign.
I dont mind all 3 but I'm getting sick of us being a poor fall back option. If they need to see what options are out there then fair play but it rules them out for me.
I hope O'Shea comes, he's the only one I would be excited for really although would all be solid enough
Correct,,,,,, easy. YES or NO, if no walk away, next thing they will want is a retainer until their minds are made up.
I, I see what you mean Syd. It's the players that react positively to a move to our club that are the ones we should be making every effort to sign. Much has been said of N'Gog in the last couple of days, but I was really pleased with what I heard on the radio today. He was quoted as saying that he would be very happy to talk to Sunderland, because of the faith that the club have shown in him. This is the stuff I want to hear from potential signings, not "I'll come if I don't get a better offer elsewhere". These players can **** right off!
Agree with Brando. O' Shea is the only one worth having. Brown wouldn't pull his pluck out for us and most of their fans think Gibson is rubbish.
at nobody comes in so they join us. They have very good seasons for us, outstanding infact, spurs decide they want them next January, what do you think will happen, ...........................................so do I so lets not go down that road
Would like young Gibson, O'shea, as already stated is very versatile, so aye, I'd have him an arl but not on sackless wages. Couldn't give a flying **** about Brown. Would have Hutton back in a heartbeat & according to the lad himself he'd love to come back. Dinnet want Mensa back, he's had more time on the sick than me. Would love big Chris Samba, helluva defender who puts his whole heart into a game.
Somebody tagged this thread and said `benchwarmers` whoever you are, CORRECT. and I also like Samba, man dont know the meaning of giving up, heart and sole player.
what he said, if their first thought is I'll see what other offers I get first, then **** them off. If they don't want to come after discussions then fair enough.
