We have turned down apparently 8 Million from Liverpool, so I dont see why we are going to accept 9 from you guys, because everybody is expecting Liverpool to come back with 10 Mill. He was also a Liverpool fan as a kid. He is contracted with us until 2014 and allegedly has a release clause somewhere between 12-15 Mill. Is he worth the money? Not at the moment - nowhere near. You'd be buying massive potential though.

From what I can see on Twitter Liverpool have bid 8M. We have intimated we'd go to 9M but no firm bid as yet. Liverpool are expected to go to 10M shortly.
It's the silly season. I've never seen this lad but there are a lot of clubs after him. We need to sign some real quality to go alongside the likes of the Bosmans and loans (which while I disagree with, we will end up with).

Man U and Liverpool are buying up raw English talent, so why shouldn't we. I'd be delighted to have him, but I just can't help but think we're bidding for people we know we won't get just to appease the fans and give the appearance of doing something positive. A la Rooney going to the MAgs a few years back!
