Lemela (sp?), didn't Spuds pay 30M for him too? Been here for nearly a 1/3rd of the season and still can't get a regular start... Money well spent by both teams?
i dunno... they paid for talent but neither side seem pushed to play the guys. 1. is it what managers see in training? 2. was it money madness gone wild... did spurs just spend spend spend with no thought to how much would be wasted if a guy was not a hit or was bought for the bench.... did cheslea just buy too many silly second row forwards and end up with trash up top? 3. is 30mil the going rate for anyone in demand? 4. I am unimpressed by willian's application
Lamela is a surprise one. Especially as Spurs are struggling for goals. Maybe he was signed behind AVB's back.
Could be pish, but a good mate of mine, Spuds fan, claims that Lamela didn't want the move to Spurs, he was gutted to leave Roma.. Like I said, its 2nd/3rd hand info. and is most likely a load of crap but may explain why he hasn't burst on the scene at Spurs?
Didn't Franco Baldini come from Roma? If so, sounds like he had a massive hand in the Lamela transfer... possibly a case of DOF making a transfer that the manager didn't want? He came as a huge talent and way too early to write him off especially given he has hardly played, but you'd think he'd get a lot more games given Spurs' inability to unlock defences this season.
A few transfers to Spurs shocked me. Pretty much all their big new arrivals either made a step down from their previous clubs (Soldado, Lamela, Eriksen) or had a choice of joining much better teams (Paulinho)
as long as they are happy with the wages they are earning lol. think they signed some ruddy good players, just a question of whether they are still at spurs when they start performing or moved on as if still there Spurs have huge potential there, just putting it into practice and when that happens.
Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has acknowledged there is a clause in Reus' contract, with reports putting the figure in the region of €35million (£29.4m).
The "Click to Add Reus" to basket isn't working... Bloody good player, young too, for those teams with money, he'll be a damn fine addition!
that may interest City or Chelsea come Jan, don't think we have much chance, saying that i don't know if any good so maybe we do, and now days the price of a player is hardly anything to go by when you think we got Coutinho for £8 mill.
To be honest, none of those teams need him, they'll most likely get him to prevent others getting him. Shame, that type of player in our team could take us up a notch or two!
Yeah, bung him in the Cart too... Dare to dream, could he be the "Quality" we are looking to inject into the team come Jan? #makeitso #trekie
well world cup year never know, we need to sell the dream of playing for us with guaranteed first team action and not the bench at other clubs. if we are around top 4 by then we look more appealing to play for than if we are in say 6th. who we can get will depend where we are in the league as to whether we will be taken seriously or not, as don't think finances is an issue.
