I was making this point to some co-workers. Bale got booked, what, 5 times for diving? 2 were blatant pens, one he dived out the way of goalkeeper rushing out and didn't appeal for anything, one was a dive. I can't remember the other. The press were howling for him to be burnt at the stake. Young does it more often and worse and yet because its Man U he gets away without criticism. Did Moyes really say it WAS a foul?
Does anyone think Joe Hart may find it difficult getting his no.1 spot back at City. Pantaloons or whatever his name is has done nothing wrong so far really, and the hard fact is that Englands no.1 is being displaced by the Romanian who hasn't made reserve keeper for his national side in qualifying so far. Lack of games is a fair point there, so its an interesting situation, for me anyway, to keep one eye on....no jokes about which 'eye' please!
He only got 4 bookings for dives when he got banned, the Villa one he didn't get booked for he got booked for a foul or something in another match. I agree with the point though, he did dive but nowhere near as often as people thought. I did see him dive the other week for Real though As for Hart, Notso. I think Spurcat gave us a good insight into it last year, there's more that goes on than someone simply dropping a 'keeper. I think Pellegrini has to be fair and make it Pantillimon's place to lose for the time being and give Hart the cup games. If you don't do that then you won't be able to have to good 'keepers at the club. I just hope we never have an English 'keeper again, they get put under way too much scrutiny and pressure.
I hadn't seen that, but was kind of where I was going with it. I'm obviously disappointed that this has happened now and not after we've played them, I wanted Hart in goal, but it sends the wrong message to the cover keeper if he does well and is still dropped to the bench after a couple of games. Pellegrini as far as I know said Hart needs a rest....how long will this rest be! I can't recall one English no.1 keeper that hasn't had a catastrophic mare at some point, even as far back as Shilton, Clemence and Seaman all made totally out of character epic fails. Its a curse!
Think you are right about English keepers,it's my belief the press ended Robbo's,Greens and Fosters?,England careers
I think if they had been better then it wouldn't have mattered. ps don't forget whats his face, with the big gap in his teeth, think his name began with C and he let in the goal vs croatia?
That's it, Carson, not Foster,Robbo was good, but just one mistake an air kick ,that i've seen a lot of players do,trouble is when a keeper does it it usually leads to a goal
Somehow none of the blame went to Gary Neville, even though he's the one that passed it back onto the divot.
Keepers need to be strong mentality to handle the pressure but I have no sympathy for Joe Hart as you can tell his "cocky attitude" is an act, which is why he often panics and then starts talking to himself when the cameras are watching to give the impression hes being hard on himself/ Remember the Pirlo penalty Thats typical of a cocky English guy without the talent to back it up, doing whatever he can to put the opposition off and then Pirlo steps up and puts him in his place!
Divot is a kind way to refer to Carson In all seriousness though, one of the first things i was taught as a not-very-good right-back was to never pass it back to the keeper on target.
I know what result I want and if Fergie was manager it would happen, but Arsenal are a more talented side then Utd at the moment attacking wise, just if you can hammer them and destroy their confidence it would be greatly appreciated!
Well,if Arsenal win,I think United can be written off.If United win then clubs can do an Arsenal, play lower league teams one after the other and catch up pointswise!
