Shane Long. Here's a player who doesn't even want to play for West Brom anymore. To me that's a player who will be eager to prove himself in a friendlier/new environment. (just like Fryat at shef wed) which is the exact opposite of a player who is doing well in the championship, who will have a lot on his shoulders and whose form may be trouble/interrupted by a move mid-season to a new club in a new league (where he's yet to play).

Mckay from Inverness

harry Kane loan

Naismith from Everton would be a good signing

Helenius from Villa could be a good punt

Europe:

Bas DOst would be a great signing loan or perm.

Anthony Modeste

kolbein Sigborsson

Finbogassen

Ola Toivonen

Imoh Ezekiel and
Michy Batshuayi are really good talents for the future.

Either way, are you suggesting that because there are no obvious options in the Prem that we should automatically punt on a championship player?

I honestly think that form doesn't carry over easily following a transfer between championship and PL. Usually The opposite happens. Hence out of form players like Fryatt find new life elsewhere and players like Hooper lose it after transferring.
I don't know how you can dismiss Rhodes as ****, but then name some of the players you have. I'm not saying we should just take a punt on a championship player at all. You're suggesting we should sign a prem player and no other.

Rhodes has scored 125 goals (87 goals in 148 appearances for Huddersfield and 38 goals in 60 appearances for Blackburn) since 2009/10. I hardly think that's ****. Blackburn spent £8M (or around that amount) on him and if it wasn't for his goals the first Season, they would have gone down so it saved them.

Rhodes is definitely THE most valuable striker outside the Premier League (within England) at this moment in time.

Surely we go for someone at a club not likely to get promoted from the Championship, but who is banging goals in for fun?

So someone like Grabban, Vaughn, McCormack or Rhodes?

Out of all of those, it has to be Rhodes. Vaughan had a go at PL level with Norwich and he wasn't brilliant; in fact I don't think he scored a goal for them (although he did pick up quite a bad injury that year).

Danny Ings would be my choice if we weren't to go for Rhodes, I've liked him since his Bournemouth days.

Jordan Rhodes isn't a good as Harry Kane?

ffs, some people shouldn't allowed out unsupervised. <doh>

I thought the fact that he thinks Billy McKay (always think of Mr Mackey in South Park when I see his name) at Inverness CT is better than Jordan Rhodes was laughable. The same Billy McKay who left Northampton on a free transfer. <laugh>

Ings is definitely THE championship player to go for at the moment.

also I was laughed at for calling Graham **** after one game (Chelsea game)

I was given every excuse possible:

Can't expect him to score vs Chelsea

FFS it's only one game

He's arrived from a bad spell at Sunderland give him time

blah blah blah

Look how general opinion has changed?

I think I'll stick with my gut feeling.

Maybe Aluko and McGregor could have a word in Jelavic's ear; not getting much game time at Everton

I'm still impressed with DG, we are 10th for a reason.

Well considering Kane is 8 years younger than Graham, doubt he will for long.

DG 28 years old has 16 PL goals in 88 PL appearances

Kane 20 years old 0 PL goals in 5 Pl appearances.

It's 75 appearances, which is almost a goal scoring rate of one in five.

Obviously he's lacking confidence at the moment and his barren run has gone on too long, but he's not ****.

Danny Graham is playing well enough, I dont care what anyone else says. The header at Newcastle is the perfect example - he made literally a stunning run to lose his man and create space to get on the end of a hopeful cross from Brady in the process turning it into a brilliant one. He then did everything textbook and head it down only for Krul to get very lucky / equal aprts make a brilliant reaction save. Graham MADE that into a chance and was just unlucky. And befrore I saw it for myself people on here were slagging him mercillously stating he was '****ing usless' and 'how did he miss that?'. I thought he'd had a shocker until I saw it for myself.

The problem is, and Ive said this all last season and this, is that none of our forwards are out and out last shoulder of the defender types other than Matty who is just too slow. They ALL want to come deep and create for a striker further forward.

Listen I'm happy for you that you can still find some positives in his outings. But I don't really understand the support for him. I mean OLM is all over Procshwitz every ****ing game he plays for us but to me they pretty much have identical performances. Is it because he's british? I mean not being funny but people were very quick to slag off, the Yank altidore, the Algerian Ghilas and the German Proschwitz. Yet you can still hear positive remarks about Mclean and about Danny Graham, despite the fact they've not done their jobs as strikers which is to score goals.

There's some clear bias there. You wrote a whole paragraph on Graham making a "stunning" run, in one PL game that didn't end in an assist or a goal. Are you serious??
I know he's currently our player and good for you for trying to support him but he won't be our player soon and I have no problem stating it as it is. He's a ****ing PL player for god sake. He should be able to cope with this pressure.

If you put bias aside. A huge majority of football fans, having watched his last 20 games, would be able to see he just isn't cutting it and there is no reason (once bias is removed) to hide the obvious. He's playing like garbage right now. I've never seen so many unwarranted compliments towards a player who is simply and blatantly not cutting it.

and all of this is even funnier when you consider how Prozzy is getting slagged for performing exactly the same way (actually considering he doesn't start any game I would say that is highly unfair)

You just reminded everyone that you don't go to our games. <laugh>

And for the record, I'm not all over Proschwitz, I just claim that Bruce has written him off and he'll be even more written off after doing nothing on Saturday, should have brought Gedo on.
