One for me on the AW at Wolverhampton 2.50 Dark Lane 6/1, 1lb below his last AW winning mark and drop in class can do the trick for this one.

Henderson / Geraghty the ones to follow at Kempton - Volnay De Thaix, Captain Cutter (AP rides for JP), The Crafty Butcher (Bazza riding for Hourigan on a rapidly improving sort who is getting 16lbs from Grands Crus), Hadrian's Approach. Nice little Lucky 15 on that lot <ok>
 
Anyone for the Melbourne Cup tonight?

HAWKSPUR 20/1 way overpriced but will need luck in getting settled in from gate 18.


I am playing two against the field but will make up my mind on that later. Writeups to come.
 
So A P McCoy only requires 4 for the highly publicised 4000, he certainly wont reach that goal today but could well pick up a Kempton brace. Captain Cutter and Foundation Man look to be the best possibilities but it would be naïve of me to leave Chalk It Down out of the little patent. I was reading somewhere over the weekend that he wants to reach 4140 to achieve a record but cant recall what that was. Does the forum think he may hang up his whip if reaching that target?
 
I'm just reading his autobiography niksboy, he has always set himself these targets, then when he has achieved it he goes and defines another target. He is so obsessive about riding winners, I'm sure he'll keep going as long as his body will allow him to.
 
He'll pay for his efforts in later life once the arthritis sets in but a superstar and a great ambassador for national hunt racing.
I agree with your selection of The Crafty Butcher Oddy, 9/2 is too good a price to miss.
 
Well, well, well boys and girls. Paddy Power have priced up the Morgiana Hurdle as follows:

Hurricane Fly 11/10
Our Conor 9/4
Jezki 5/2

I'm tempted to grab a slice of 11/2 Hurricane Fly for the Champion Hurdle prior to this. If Hurricane Fly wins this convincingly he must shorten to about 3/1 or 11/4 for the Champion Hurdle.

I agree with you on this, the deciding factor me me was the fact that the trainer has won this race twice before in 06 and 11

Well, Toppy, the MC is one of the toughest races of the year on this planet IMHO, but I'll have a wager on Dandino with Ryan Moore in the saddle. Don't know if I'll get up early enough to listen however! GL with your bet!

Am I the only one of n Grand Crus this afternoon! Also I see Josh Moorie goes to plumpton for one ride after his rides at Kempton have done 2 singles and a double on tthem

I'm with you Gaz - backed him last week and think he has a cracking chance. Good luck everyone playing in this - as swanny rightly says it is one of the hardest races to pick the winner in.

You must be losing a bit of money on these ante post wagers Oddy - if I recall last Cheltenham you had a few ante post bets - Big Bucks, Flemenstar etc..and I noticed a few others on here with some ante post losers...For me no point in betting ante post - too high risk unless you wait for any possible value on NRNB! You dont know the ground for one which is always such a crucial factor...
