Two of our favourite old boys are struggling to keep their jobs after today's results. I fear for both Martin Jol and Chris Hughton. Both are at good clubs, but I don't think either will survive today's defeats.
Would Pulis take either of those on?, better option than Palace you have to say., from his point of view that is, not ours, ideally I'd like him to take Palace and drop out of our league with them.
I said on here a few weeks ago that Pulis's preference is for a PL club in the south because his family home is down the road from Harry, so wouldn't rule him out of any of these jobs. Realistically, I can't see Norwich employing him, but if Fulham can employ Hughes, then I suppose they would take on Pulis.
Can't be much of an anticipation to a club's supporters knowing that a coach like Pulis is taking over though can it? Where's the hope for future glory and the hope for good entertaining attacking football? It would deflate me enormously if I knew that Hughes,Holloway or Pulis would be coming to my club and even Bruce for that matter and let's not mention Allardyce.
AVB won something in Portugal and had Chelsea 5th which wasn't too bad though. Where are all those names I mentioned in comparison?
"let's not mention Allardyce" Agreed, let's not mention him as it will only remind us of that dreadful afternoon a couple of weeks ago when he totally outsmarted our manager.
What I will say, is that Allardyce has better knowledge of the game than he is given credit for, and AVB does not have as much tactical knowledge as he is frequently credited with.
Fair comments Spurcat but I don't see Allardyce as a motivator whereas I do AVB. Anyway we have the chance to avenge their first win at WHL for 14 years. I can't remember the scores last season but Allardyce didn't outsmart AVB then did he? Anyway Spurcat I'm not here to argue a small point with you okay. Let's hope we win tomorrow because it would fill the lads with a lot of confidence to beat Everton.
Can't see Fulham winning any of their next 7 games. Hughton will keep Norwich up (just) and resign in May IMO. If Poyet had been manager in July I don't think Sunderland would have gone down, then again Palace would also be on 0 points. Palace will break Derby's points record IMO, awful team.
Allardyce did very well with Bolton and they played a lot better football than people seem to remember - as any team with the likes of Okocha and Djorkaeff would.
I remember Okocha playing the game of his life at the lane, as when he came to England his dream was to play under Hoddle (who turned him down)..... Okocha was out to show us what we missed.
Such good football that one season of it led to Hidetoshi Nakata deciding to retire at the age of 29.
apparently BT are doing that this year, they were following Hemel Hempstead,so now they move on to Sutton, for next weeks game at Kidderminster.
Garth Crooks' team of the week is fast becoming the best thing on the Beeb site. I'm sure he's just trying to wind everyone up, he's even selected Begovic this week, presumably because he scored
