I miss the Championship where we won most of our games. We don't do that now. :p

I thought Dan Harding was generally excellent in L1. My favourite performance was the match where he had a haircut at half time.

That shot of Guly's that hit the upright; I so desperately wanted it to roll in but knew it was going to hit the post. Every time I've ever seen it I've willed it in but it never makes it.

Harding was superb for us. Even in the Championship after Adkins bought Fox he didn't drop Harding. It was only when he got injured that Fox got his place. Even though we got some decent results in the second half of the season we never looked as good with Fox.

They should put Don't Stop Believin' in the background of all of these videos.

Made all the worse by the forgotten G, and also because it's a favourite Americanism, which is not required on this forum. Nuff said.

Sorry, but you are just plain wrong. It was only when he was being played on the right that he started looking dodgy. If he'd stuck with Harding instead of Fox we would have won the division easily. As it was with every right winger giving Fox the run around , there were moments when we looked like we might blow it

I agree with you Lff. Harding was not the bad player some people like to make out. He was excellent in League One and was not a liability in the Championship, but a fine stand-in. He was one of the players who did his bit to bring us through the leagues, and I give him great credit for that.

I don't think you can lay most of the blame on Fox and say harding was better. Are we forgetting the mass hatred being thrown about re harding? Guly's goals dried up in the 2nd half, lambert was injured for a bit and lallana had an off spell if I recall.

IMO Lamberts injury really gave Sharp a chance to show what he coud do (bit like in L1 when Barnard stepped up to the plate), so that wasn't the biggest problem; that was in midfield where Lallana & Guly's Championship season stats were almost identical; one of the reason's I defended Guly so much last season. This season however, Lallana has clearly made a huge step up, from where he was & left Guly behind whereas I thought both would be able to be proper prem quality.

There were two main "turning points" for me. One was Fox and the other was Chaplow's injury at Bristol. We lost that game, then he was out for a bit and was never the same player when he returned. Up until that point people tend to forget that he was a key player for us.

Agreed. Chappers was an absolute workhorse for us in League One and in the Championship, right up until he got injured in that game at Ashton Gate.
