The most important thing that you are all missing is 'Where am I?' I can only think that even my annoying, relentless optimism couldn't cope with how negative we were feeling then. Playing well, but dropping points like confetti. This season we don't drop points from winning positions as we were doing then.
I was quite amused when someone said we should try Shaw or Dickson at left back! Shows how clueless most of us were to Shaw's potential back then.
Dan Harding getting skelped for Oldham's goal. I still remember him as a better left back than Danny fox though. Perhaps I'm wrong about both of them.
Came across this last night. Great memories and a great little video.
Two years ago today...
2nd Guly goal - very similar to JRod's goal this weekend....Lallana's turn and cross to Lambert is almost identical!
Both of our goals were quite identical at the weekend: Lallana cross - Rodriguez header - Lambert header - goal. Lallana cross - Lambert header - Rodriguez header - goal. Hoof!
Thats quite amazing particularly Lallana's turn away from goal that preceded the cross. That deep cross was so effective in previous years, the Fulham game is pretty much the first time its been used this season.
This includes the famous 26-passes-to Connolly's goal which hardly any football programme showed in full, if I am not mistaken. Worth downloading to keep just for that. Boro were completely punch drunk by the time Rickie fed David. And Guly came so close to a hat-trick.
