I hope we make a cheeky bid for Mata in the January window. Mad Dog will put a block on it, but I'm hoping that Mata will do the decent thing and put in a transfer request, encouraged by our interest.

Emmanuel Frimpong says he was joking when he implied the reason he isn't in the Arsenal squad for Capital One Cup clash against Chelsea is because of his race

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has sparked a race row at the Emirates after implying that he would have more first-team opportunities if he was "white and English".

Ahead of Tuesday night's Capital One Cup clash against Chelsea, Frimpong was asked on Twitter why he isn't in the side.

And the Ghana star replied: "LOL I wanna laugh". Before adding: "Sometimes I wish I was white and English #realtalk".

Frimpong has 683,000 followers and the comment caused such an immediate stir it was quickly deleted, with a swift follow-up tweet saying: "Not every tweet is football related".

Later the 21-year-old added: "Look what ever you read tomorrow has majorly been twisted. Is a joke what people will do to start controversy goodnight people".

In fact, Frimpong's omission had been raised earlier in the day, with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger telling the club's official website that the player was not in the squad because "he is still short of competition".

However, it is not the first time Frimpong has caused controversy on Twitter.

He was previously charged with improper conduct and fined £6,000 by the FA after a comment aimed at a Tottenham fan in 2012, who he branded "scum y**".

As a matter of interest; how many of Arsenal's First XI would be described as English (not British) and White ?
 
Next up, Ryo Miyachi says Wenger isn't picking him as he hates East Asians. he can point to the Arsenal careers of Park Chu-young and Junichi Inamoto as further proof.

Or we can point to Frimpong's latest moronic outburst on Twatter as yet more evidence that Frimpong is a ****ing moron. After all, he was English at U17, U18 and U21 level before deciding to play for Ghana, so by his reasoning he opted out of playing for Arsenal more often by not being English any more.

4) We've had it done to us numerous times by other clubs so it's about time we put the shoe on our foot.

You don't see a difference between us unsettling Mata by actually bidding on him, and Madrid unsettling Bale through their media mouthpiece, players, coach and board?

Bidding on a player is a necessary part of bringing them to your club, the latter, is not.

I don't think making a derisory offer was mentioned but if it was, it would be doing a Chelsea also and I have no problem using those tactics against either club after they did it with us.
 
When Madrid did it they were the worst ever according to Spurs fans, this change of mindset is amusing. So if anyone does it to spurs again in future you all have no reason to complain as you are clearly in support of these kind of tactics now.

What exactly are "these kind of tactics"? HIAG said he hopes we bid for Mata, what exactly do you find underhand about that?
